I've got better origins - <i>none whatsoever</i>. We don't need to know where Sonic came from. We don't need to know he had a mom, or a dad, or if he was a genetic experiment. We don't need a logical explanation for him to exist.
Sonic is a badass. He doesn't take no shit from no nobody, and he lives for the thrills of life. That's all we need to know. If Sonic needed a backstory, he would've been given one in Sonic 1 - and all we got was "Sonic and Eggman have been fighting for as long as anyone can remember, and nobody knows why".
Concerning Sonic's parents (or anyone else's), I don't care if they're mentioned, just don't have some ridiculous plot of them coming back to life or something like that. And no cheap deaths, they irk me to NO end.

And not that it has anything to do with it, but in the Japanese version of the series Tails has always been female, so the notion of a homosexual relationship invented solely for the purpose of the American audience is, how can I put this, moronic. Being that USA is the homophobe capital of the world, I mean.
Well, how about that. The idea of a homosexual relationship created for the American public alone is still moronic, but I will admit that the love song dealy is weird.
