If there's a city in England that doesn't have chavs then I think I may very well move there.

But where will I find some "brown sauce" abroad?

Omni raises a fine point. I don't think I'd settle for anything less than HP.

I haven't had the "Fruity" variety in such a long time. I'll have to remember it the next time I go shopping.

I am right in saying "fruity sauce" is "brown sauce"?

No, only HP's original sauce and its similarly flavoured competitors qualify as brown sauce. HP Fruity Sauce is an entirely different flavour of sauce from the HP sauce line.

See their website for more information: http://www.hpfoods.com/brands/hpsauce/

Oh yeah, brown sauce is more spicy. Both go well on bacon butties though and neither are easy to find abroad.
Edit: After some useless research I found that Fruity Sauce is a variant of Brown sauce so we're both right, kinda...
Just go for it Grant.

I've never actually tried HP Fruity. Is it worth a purchase?

It's just brown sauce with a richer, less vinegary taste. I'd say at least try it.

Is brown sauce the same as Worchester sauce/ That's alway confused me too.

Incidently, I have to congratulate you guys on how badly my thread has gone off-topic over something as simple as the letter "a".

Nope. Brown sauce is thick, like ketchup, and a bit less spicy.

Our pleasure.

No A1. You poor bastards. Although, of course, a good steak doesn't need any kind of extra sauce.

I've always preferred BBQ sauce on my steaks, but I'm not that much of a steak fan to begin with. I'd prefer a burger or some chicken most days.
