Eric Robert Gray, known as webmaster PACHUKA/Reala on Sonic-Cult.org, notorious for, among other things, his "Boob pix plz" section of the site, has been arrested in Atherton, California, on charges of sexually assaulting a 15 year old girl he met on the Internet.

According to local police, Gray met the girl on November 30th, took her to his apartment, and committed the act. Gray then drove the girl home, and told her not to say anything about the incident. Eventually, friends of the girl told police about the assault.

Gray is now being held in a local jail and could face up to four years in prison if convicted. Under California's "three strikes" law, if he has two other offenses against him, he could go to jail for life. It is rumored that Gray was once convicted of grand theft auto.

It is unclear whether the girl, whose identity is concealed due to her age, was actually raped outright by Gray.

While news of this broke late in December, there was confusion as to whether the identity of Gray in real life and PACHUKA on the internet matched. Several independent, anonymous sources have confirmed to tssz|news that the personalities do match. Furthermore, a former Cult co-webmaster has purportedly confirmed to avid followers of the site and its founder that Gray is PACHUKA.

The future of Sonic Cult remains unclear. Gray reassumed control of the site late in 2004 after giving it up to a team of managers earlier in the year.

Sonic community message boards have been aflurry with activity since speculation of the Cult webmaster's arrest broke. On MoogleMB.com, forumer Neo-kun reacted to the story quite succinctly:

Don't get it the wrong way, I love my country, however, there is to much corruption, crime and poverty.

On the topic, I liked pachuka, kind of... but I CAN believe he was accoused by rape, not sure if he was so stupid to have sex with a minor.

"Nobody should be raped" and then the part about "bubba" are contradictory. I'm all for punsihment of violent offenders in prison, but still, nobody deserves rape.

Sexual assault suspect pleads not guilty

An Atherton man charged with assaulting a teen girl he met on the Internet pleaded not guilty in San Mateo County Superior Court Wednesday.

Eric Robert Gray, 25, is charged with two counts of oral copulation, as well as sexual battery and penetration with a foreign object for allegedly forcibly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl he met online.

The prosecution alleges that Gray, who has a 2001 conviction for unlawful intercourse with a minor, met the girl in a chat room and communicated with her online for three months. On Dec. 7, Gray allegedly picked the girl up in Sunnyvale and brought her to his Atherton home to watch a movie. The defendant attempted to fondle the victim and, when she resisted, used force to sexually assault her, according to the prosecution.

Gray then allegedly drove the victim home. The victim told her friends of the alleged assault and the friends told the police, the San Mateo County district attorney's office reports.

Gray appeared in Superior Court Commissioner Joseph Gruber's courtroom with his recently retained defense attorney Kathryn Fontaine. He returns to court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.
