See, there's the internet, there's people who make fun of the internet, there's people who make fun of those who make fun of the internet, AND there are people who believe they are ABOVE IT ALL and make fun of those who make fun of people who laugh at the internet. And then there are the people who look at all of this and go lol internet, therefore making fun of the internet, therefore bringing it all BACK TO THE BEGINNING. It's just one vicious cycle.

I made a flowchart once, Zeta, but you fucked it 'cause it had a picture of Liam Neeson on it. Ruined the damn thing. I had to throw it out.

I'd make a pie chart, but everybody'd eat it.

Hmm...so there's the Internet, then the people who make fun of the Internet, then the people who make fun of the people making fun of the Internet, then there are the people who think they're above the Internet, then there's us.

1) Internet
2) People who make fun of Internet
3) People who make fun of people making fun of Internet
4) People who think they're above the Internet
5) Us.

Well, to be fair - enough alcohol does generally lead to one getting laid.

With or with out one's permission.

In other news, the sun came up this morning. It was a reddish-orange.

And I don't drink nor purchase alcohol. I'm a law-abiding citizen, dammit! It's my downfall.

Is alcohol illegal where you live? Or are you too young?

So what? I was fifteen the first time I had a drink -- and I mean a real drink, not the sip of wine my mother let me have sometimes 'cause I kept bugging her about it. Putting laws on consumption is idiotic. Yeah, drinking too much alcohol is bad for you -- but drinking much coffee is bad for you, and I don't see any laws about THAT.

Are you serious? Coffee doesn't effect your ability to function even half as much as alcohol does.

I got Pepsi Twist to make me get laid what with it's sugary goodness (which is kind of ironic since I don't like sugar much), who needs alcohol?

Well he either respects the law or doesn't want to deal with the potential consequences of breaking them.

To me alcohol is just pointless. Consuming things for pleasure is stupid. If it's food you get fat, if it's drugs you die and if it's alcohol you act like a moron.

And so therefore we need the government to makes laws to protect us from the dangers of overconsumption of alcohol because we can't do it ourselves?

Also: never had a caffeine crash, huh? I tried to ween myself off caffeine once. Bad, horrible idea. Snappish, moody, overtired, unable to function at my full capacity... my body is addicted to caffeine. I need it, I crave it, I don't like myself without it. Why are there no laws and social rules and after school specials warning me about this sort of thing?

You could say that about any law.

There are laws against robbing banks when we should all have the good sense not to rob a bank anyway.

Etc.

Because when you drink coffee you don't generally go drive a car and kill people. And you don't generally beat your spouse. News flash people aren't responsible. We have laws with consequences and people still don't give a shit, do you honestly think people would be more responsible without consumption laws? If everybody was decent we wouldn't need laws to begin with.

*sigh* Look. Laws that are in place that prevent (or are meant to prevent) you from hurting <i>other people</i> are fine and dandy and what the legal system is for. Laws against drunk driving? Fantastic. No one should be behind the wheel of an automobile while under the influence of anything that can drastically change their perception and motor skills. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the consumption of alcohol. I'm 20. It is illegal for me to drink alcohol. Let's say I get together with my friends at someone's house, and we have a few beers. No one gets drunk, no one goes out driving, we're just chilling out and a little buzzed. No one gets hurt.

What did I do wrong?

Nothing. So why am I breaking the law?

Robbing a bank hurts someone else. Driving drunk has the potential to hurt someone else. Beating one's spouse hurts someone else. Laws against those? Are good. They belong. A law against me drinking alcohol because I'm not of some arbitrary age? Is needless.

That's not the point.

Okay, let's try this: I can't order wine from a restaurant to go with my meal because I'm not of age. What could possibly be wrong with my having a bit of wine with my food? Nothing that I can see. So if there's nothing wrong with it, why is it against the law?
