Fixed. Very rarely do new games see release on Saturdays.

Is anyone going to mention the DS? Warioware + XY-XX look unique and addictive, and Mario seems fun despite having been released five years ago. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking.

Whoops. Guess I got mixed up on that somewhere.

As for the DS, I hear most stores have stopped taking preorders because the intial shipments are apparently sold out-- I'm not sure if this is because the DS is genuinely (pre)selling like hotcakes, or Nintendo is just creating a false shortage (remember the N64 launch?), but either way, I get the feeling I'm gonna have to wait a month or so before I get one. Hopefully they'll have a "killer-app" soon after that, cause none of the launch games are very interesting.

There are starting to be a few DS games that look interesting, like the new Kirby game and the new Wario Ware. But none of them are launch titles, and they still seem a little gimicky to carry a whole system. At this stage, I just can't shake the feeling that maybe the DS should have just been a controller, not an entire handheld.

Yeah, Mario 64 DS looks really intersting. If nothing else, it's got 30 new stars, the ability to play as Yoshi and Luigi . . . It should be worth a look, when I eventually get the DS.

A couple titles in the works have me interested - Animal Crossing DS, because the game works better as a portable. Also, the future Pokemon games, along with the new Kirby and Yoshi games, as well as Mario Kart DS, and New Super Mario Bros.

I'll definately end up getting one eventually, but problably not until sometime next year.

Eh...I'm more interested in Yoshi Universal Gravitation for the GBA than Yoshi's Touch and Go.

Mario 64 DS actually seems to star Yoshi, rather than Mario. He's the character who has to rescue the plumber characters, and he can even morph into the other 3 characters. Even in 4-player mode, all players start out as Yoshi.

Yoshi has a ton of movies, by the way - Eating, Egg Toss, Flutter Jump, and Ground Pound have all been preserved in 3D.

As for the others, Mario remains the same, and his advantage is that he can wall-jump and is generally more versitile to use than the other characters.

Wario has super-strength, but is very slow and can't jump far.

Luigi, as always, can jump the highest, but is the hardest to control, and has the weakest attack. In addition, for who knows why, Luigi can run over water for short distances. He's like Jesus in green.

I am kind of miffed that Wario is in there. Three plumbers is one too many. I would've prefered Toad or Peach or Donkey Kong. Maybe even some forgotten character from Paper Mario . . .

Mario is neccessary. Luigi needs to be in there because he keeps on getting screwed over. Yoshi rocks in any capacity . . .

Wario just don't fit.

Yoshi is overrated.

Wario is much cooler.

Donkey Kong Jr is the best. We just don't see enough of the little bastard.

Wario World wasn't a very good game.

And the DKC Donkey Kong (that is, the current Donkey Kong, post Donkey Kong Country) is problably Donkey Kong Junior.

The first in the Shadow Hearts series. It was on the PS1.

If Cranky is supposed to be the original Donkey Kong, and Cranky is the current DK's grand-dad, then that would make Donkey Kong Jr. the current DK's father.

Which is confusing, because I swear there was at least one game that featured both the current DK and also a Donkey Kong Jr. that was Diddy's age.

That's one screwed up family.

Yes. And at first, Cranky Kong was the current Donkey Kong's grandpa - making Donkey Kong Jr the father of the current Kong.

But in DK64, Cranky was changed to just being the current DK's father . . .

Oh God, there are arguments that go on for hundreds of pages at GameFaqs about how Cranky Kong, Donkey Kong, and DKJR are all related to eachother, and which one is which.

Don't let us turn into them.

Did it... say that in the manual or something? I always just assumed DK from DKC was a (rather hideous) reinvisioning of the original Donkey Kong character.
