But then they could roll out Jeb... You should look into pooling money to buy a island out in the Pacific...

I'm hoping for McCain versus Hilary in '08. That wouldn't be too bad.

But if another Bush gets in, I'm killing myself.

Nice to know that everyone in the country hates gay people.

I swear, I'm this close to comitting suicide.

Hey, while we're at it, let's not learn any lessons from history whatsoever. This country is like a little retarded boy that won't stop touching the goddamn stove.

Nah, I think just most of them are keeping it to themselves. With the dems so crazy and the mes so pissed off at the 11 states whoshallnotbenamed, it's hard not to get your ass verbally kicked. To be honest, it took be about an hour to think of a reply that wasn't me being a total bitch, and I happen to think you're an okay guy.

According to some BBC survey, 48% of Americans consider themselves 'born again evangelical Christians'. Conversely, I think something like 10% of British people consider themselves 'sort of Christians if we can be bothered and went to Church with my mum once I think, possibly when I was six or seven'. You guys just need a few more centuries' worth of civilisation and you'll grow out of it.

It seems troubling to have a government raking in the votes on 'moral' promises rather than practical initiatives (eg, 'vote for me and I'll make having green hair a sin' as opposed to 'vote for me and I'll improve hospitals' or whatever). It's a shame Bush got back in, but then again, I never did trust Kerry's chin.

I'm actually a little nervous posting too, heh. But don't go into #GHZ. =P

Oops..

I highly respect Kerry for conceding though, he's not an asshole like Gore was. I voted Bush, but that doesn't mean I agree with everything he's for. For example, unlike Bush, I do support gay civil unions. You can't ever really have a perfect leader.

Although I am very confident that gay marriage will be legal in at least a majority of states within ten years, I was surprised at just how overwhelmingly Issue 1 passed.

We're going to look back upon this time and shake our heads in embarassment and wonder why some people just wanted to make it so hard for people to love each other.

History keeps repeating itself, but we never seem to learn.

I just realized something. Why do people who aren't homosexuals have any say in whether gay marriage is legal or not? It's not affecting them unless they're really religious people who believe it's wrong. But still, why do they have any place in saying ot's allowed or not? Geez, let people live their life the way they want.

Heh, They sound like children: "Oh noes! Teh gays r gtting teh Mariige!1!!1! Waht we do fwe let dis happn?1?!/1?"

NT's religious, of course he's conservative. I bet he hates fags, too. Can we ban him?

I think the average Brit approach to other people's religions is "I don't mind what they do to be honest, as long as they're not, y'know, extremists".

Because allowing gay people to marry will obviously open the door to people being able to marry goats. I MEAN, WHERE WOULD WE STOP!??!?!?!?!?!

Marriage has always been clearly defined as between a man and a woman and now these fags wanna ruin it!

..Well, except when we allowed those crazy blacks to get married.

..And again when we allowed 'em to marry us whiteys.

..Okay, and again when we decided women are people, too, and I guess husbands don't own their wives.

To be honest, I don't really understand enough about the whole "gay marriage" issue to be for it or against it. This is because it doesn't really effect me, so I really don't care. If this is passed at some point, I would prefer it not to be called marriage, but I'm not going to get into a fit over it if that ends up being the official name of a homosexual civil union. Incidently I voted against the new amendment in Michigan, but apparently it didn't matter.

I voted, but I mainly voted for the local candiates cause my vote for Kerry meant precisely dick in Utah. Utah is one of those 11 states, I voted no on the amendment, it did a whole lot of good too. My county was the closest one to voting against it with a whopping 46%. It may sound high, especially for Utah, but that is just one county. All the others got as low as 20.

Oh and not to sound sexist or anything, but do you think Clinton even has a chance in hell for '08? I'd vote for her, but I seriously doubt the rest of America would. So many men and women wouldn't vote for her just because she's a woman.

Well, like I said, I'm for gay civil unions, not marriage. That seems like a good compimise to me. It's not marriage, but they still get the benefits etc.

Then isn't it the exact same thing? Two people living together, legally bound to eachother?

Civil Unions don't grant as many rights as marriage. Especially in the case of death or wills - if for instance, two gay guys are in a civil union - one of the partners is put into a coma. His family has more rights to take him off life support or not than his "husband".

There's also a bunch of other legal benefits that civil unions aren't granted - many companies will only insure spouses, not partners in a civil union.

I'm getting a little sick of people saying that a marriage and a civil union is the same thing. Legally, it's not.

I believe that the government should back out of marriage entirely, and civil unions would have their rights extended so that they get everything a married couple were. Then the religions could handle the rest.

But the Jesus freaks would leap up and scream about how evil it is to take God out of the country.

The voice of God calls Bush on a magical telephone and tells him what to do. Or it could be the voice of Cheney.

Last time I checked, Cheney and Bush had opposing viewpoints on Gay Marriage.
