You know, I liked Pepper Ann, it had it's moments, like this one where her teacher says she needs a "Special Partner" for some project, and she thinks she means a training bra, so she goes to this store called "Veronica's Secret", and hilarity ensues. Oh, and Gummi Bears sounds so fucking vaguely familiar, but I can't remember it.

Someone really has to fire Eisner, or at least make him realize how awful Disney's animated shows are now.
I thought Eisner did get fired, sort of? Or his contract is about to expire or something? Not that I think the corporation is going to change much whether Eisner's around or not.

He's supposed to step down for Roy Disney (Walt Disney's nephew), but I don't know if that happened yet.

A Goofy Movie was pretty awesome in an early-90's pop music kind of way (Powerline = teh win), and it had Pauly Shore in it, which is always a bonus. "Time for a little...smoke-aaaage, awoooooo!" Good times.

I've actually downloaded the Powerline songs. Yea, I love them THAT much...

You mean.. PowerLine was an actual real band? :P Wow. I thought they were just made up for the movie.

The board of execs or something have been trying to get Eisner to resign for a couple years now, and only recently did he finally announce he was going to cave in and do it.

It's those bears who jump like balls when they drink or eat something? It's been SO long since I've seen it.

Actually, their not as far as I know. I meant I downloaded the two songs sung by Powerline OF the GoofyMovie...one was called "I2I" that played in the ending concert and the other one I forgot what it's called.

I loved A Goofy Movie! It was awesome. Powerline was actually R and B "Superstar" (cough) Tevin Campbell.

Oh, and incidently, Goof Troop arrived after Darkwing Duck... after Rescue Rangers, the show order went Tail Spin, Darkwing, Goof Troop, Gargoyles/Schnookums and Meat, Bonkers. Then the Disney Afternoon was obliterated.

Bonkers was definitely the beginning of the end. His creation was a product only of the continuing failed negotiations between Disney and Amblin to develop a Roger Rabbit television show. So, they retooled it and voila... Bonkers! I mean, seriously. The two have almost exactly the same scenario and characters. And, you know, Bonkers Bobcat looks and acts almost exactly like Roger Rabbit.

The Roger Rabbit scenario idea was fucking stupid simply because the "normal world" and its people were all animated too. The whole point of Roger Rabbit was that it mixed live action and animation.

I remember the Duck Tales movie. It was like Aladdin, except with Duck Tales characters. I remember wanting to see the Duck Tales movie so badly after seeing it in the local Blockbuster, but I didn't get to rent it until I'd already seen Aladdin. And even at that young age, I was like "What the heck, they're almost exactly the same" and I was somewhat disappointed.

I want to watch that movie again.

They did a reasonably good job of working around that problem with the short lived Roger Rabbit comic book. All of the cartoon characters were drawn like cartoons, while all of the "real" people were drawn in a heavily shaded, more "realistic" art style.

The Roger Rabbit flick was actually based off of a novel, although the two didn't have much in common. In the book, the toons were newspaper comic stars, and they were "photographed" to make the comics. They actually spoke with visible speech bubbles rather than vocally... imagine trying to get THAT across in a novel.

The book was called "Who Censored Roger Rabbit," because it started with Roger being murdered. In the book, cartoon characters could die just as easily as any human... the way they were streched and squished for the comics was by creating temporary dopplegangers of themselves that usually faded away after a few hours. Shortly before his murder, Roger works extra hard to create a particularly lasting doppleganger of himself, and that is how he manages to be a character in the book even though he is dead. Still, by the end of the book the doppleganger is falling apart into dust and blowing away. It's kind of a sad ending.

I don't feel too bad about spoiling it since the book has been out of print for over a decade.

Yea, same here. Wow, that book does sound sad...makes me look at the movie in a whole new way...actually, it doesn't. *shrugs* Now I must go out and buy that 2-disc DVD special that I've been meaning to buy.

And Psx, no love for the Aladdin series?
What J-man said. The movie was just too fucking good, there's no way the television series could keep up that kind of momentum. It came close on a few counts though, I'll give it that.

A Goofy Movie was great, even though the TV show itself was tolerable at best. There were only a few eps that interested me back then (the one that had Max trying to set up his dad with a teacher was one I can distinctly recall). Oddly enough, anything that prominently featured the show's only female influence, Peg, I couldn't tear myself away from. Funny that.

You gotta love a family that names their only daughter after a deadly firearm (Pistol).

Too bad Pete didn't have anymore children - Bowie Knife, Bazooka, Flamethrower, and Shiv.

Yeah, A Goofy Movie was great. I loved that... music thing... I forgot what it was all about, actually. My brother stole almost all of my videos, and he has a collection of videos which he's never going to watch and just enjoys stealing them from me and putting them in a shelf in his room. Fuck him. He's older than me so I can't really, y'know, beat the shit out of him and then take them back. Woo.

And I don't know what Kingdom Hearts is even about. I don't have a PS2. I'm gonna get one soon, but I don't know if a PS3 is out or anything and if I'm wasting my time buying one.

Max wants to go to a concert with a girl he likes. Goofy drags him along on a family car trip instead.
And I don't know what Kingdom Hearts is even about.
Soul-stealing demons invade the various Disney worlds (Wonderland, Never Never Land) and slaughter all of the characters, stealing their souls, ripping out their hearts and eating them.

Seriously.

And a little boy with a giant key, Donald (who's a Black Mage), and Goofy (who's a Knight) set out to stop the hoarde of soul-devouring nightmares.

Seriously.

Incidentally, Donald and Goofy play off of eachother in a way that's similar to how Black Mage and Fighter from 8BT would act if they were G-rated. Creepy in the wrong sort of way.

And they got Lance Bass, the washed-up singer from N*SYNC to voice Sephiroth. I hate Sephiroth. I hate Lance Bass. They took too bad things and made them worse. Luckily, he doesn't feature much in the story and barely talks.

All of the other celebrity voices are pretty cool and fit well, though.

I never understood the whole uproar with Bass voicing Sephiroth. He says maybe eight words, and it's an optional battle.

Meh. I'm not that offended because I hate both of them.

But for an analogy Sonic fans would understand . . .

Imagine if they got Aaron Carter to voice Metal Sonic. The cool, Pre-Heroes Metal Sonic.

Hurts, don't it?

Secretly, I'm hoping that Scott Stapp from Creed voices the bad guy. That'll make it a hell of a lot easier to kill off anything I see.
Or, alternatively, have Samuel L. Jackson voice him. That'd just be kickass. Wouldn't make much sense, but then again, neither does me imagining Sora saying he sees dead people.

In truth, I normally wouldn't care, but I like Sephiroth and the first time I heard this, I was in full angst mode. I think I let it go right now since it's been 2 years since the game's release and I've pretty much moved on.

I did a drawing of Sora saying that. I was going to show it, but unfortunately, I can't find it anywhere in my art files.

Oh man. That would've been a great opening line for when the party meets the citizens of Halloweentown. XD
