Re: Sandwich porn
Isn't this a level beyond Vegan? I mean, what do you classify someone as when they're worried about killing plants to eat? And where does it end? Not taking showers so you don't kill germs?
I mean... just wow.

Respect for all lifeforms in general is a good thing, but you really need to draw a line somewhere.
Back to the topic, the idea of peanut butter/cheetossandwitches sandwiches sounds disgusting, but intriguing. How do you people come up with those recipes?

That's where you take two slices of bread and you wish you had some meat. Bow bow bow.Dr. BUGMAN wrote: Lately though I've had nothing but Wish Sandwiches.

Re: Sandwich porn
Interesting suggestions, thanks. Also it be noted that I do in fact eat dairy products, so I'm not really vegan.
Sandwiches though. It's been years since I've last eaten a proper one (I remember my last involved, aside from bread, a few salad leaves, tomato, cucumber slices, and butter+cheese or alternatively cream cheese), I could hardly with the discovery of my gluten intolerance and the resulting reduction of bread that I can eat to a few dull rice bread variants.
However back when I could, I would sometimes eat one half of a fresh bread roll with a slice of Schwarzbrot ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_cuisine#Bread ), and some butter in between. Despite its simplicity this combination tasted splendidly.
Fortunately I recently discovered a gluten-free Schwarzbrot substitute which tastes nearly the same. I haven't found any decent gluten-free bread rolls yet, but trying with a toasted slice of normal rice bread instead that old composition was proven to work without wheat as well.

I'm sorry for your loss; Black bread is like the best bread in the world and probably ex-Prussian Europe's greatest culinary speciality. Them overseas men have no idea what you'll be missing out on.P.P.A. wrote:Schwarzbrot
Having gluten problems? My Mum got that shit by being a healthy vegetarian and overfeeding on soy products instead of meat. For alternatives to gluten-based carbohydrate meals look no further than buckwheat. No gluten, and a slightly nutty flavor to boot - buckwheat's awesome.
It also used to be my country's trademark crop for the peasant population during the Middle Ages. Funny how it's almost infinitely more rare and expensive today.
