So what kind of legal limbo are the Pizza Cats stuck in, anyway? I've been waiting for that DVD set to be released since I got a DVD player.

I really miss Pizza Cats. I used to watch it every day before I went to school.

I did manage to find this, however: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... eName=WDVW

I miss Pizza Cats, the show where it's theme song I sung to everyday as mom drove me to school back as a young'un. That song was addicting.

As soon as someone finds the script, we might begin the show.

Disney recently acquired everything Saban held the rights to, and are squatting on most of it. It will likely never get released as long as its in their hands.

Of course, even the most barebones release for the show would be fine, even if it didn't have a subbed version. This has to be the one instance in the history of anime in which the English dub actually improves upon the original.

Did anyone here ever see the SPC movie? I've heard about it, but I don't have much info.

There was a movie?

You know that old game you used to play where you'd mute the TV and ad-lib everything all the characters were saying? That's what Pizza Cats is like. I imagine in its original form it's a fairly mediocre children's anime, though it'd be interesting to watch a few raw episodes just to see.

Will somebody please cue that bird?

I dug my way through some poorly-designed GeoCities pages (is there any other kind?) and it appears that "The Movie" was nothing more than three episodes (the first episode and then the ending 2 parter) put out on VHS. So nothing that hasn't been shown on TV already.

Still, considering the source, it could be wrong. If anyone else has any other info on it, please post.

Try playing a song (preferably with words) loudly on a stereo and then muting the TV. Hilarity insures, especially with anime.

Now that I think about it, everybody hates Disney for one reason or another. Why are they still around?

Personally, I've always despised Disney since I was a kid because they're so f'ing annoying!¡ And recently they've hit an all-time low, I seriously can't even bear to even listen to the channel from another room. I bet they're sending subliminal messages to children...and killing brain cells at the same time...

I dunno, I liked Disney. Anything by Pixar is great, and The Lion King is still my favorite animated movie.

I think the main problem now is that Michael Eisner is a fuckhead.

Pixar is not Disney. And pretty soon, as of their next movie or the one after that, they will no longer be working with Disney, either. And I will never have any reason to watch a new Disney movie again.

Disney is only still around because it takes a long, long time for a giant to bleed to death.

I realize this, but up until now all Pixar movies have been released through Disney. Personally, I'll be glad once Pixar is free of their contract.

On a related note, Pixar's new movie, "The Incredibles," looks great. Not that I'd expect anything less them.

I am damn happy and excited for "The Incredibles." There hasn't been any Pixar Film that has disappointed me thus far.

Much as I lothe Disney and all of thier cash-in crap( their "cheapquels" come to mind("Coming soon! Lion King 1 1/3: Nala's Story")), I still think that Emporer's New Groove, An Extremely Goofy Movie, Lilo and Stitch, and especially Treasure Planet, all pwned.

Oh yeah, I guess I like Kingdom Hearts too...

(Dammit! I want to HATE them but they keep giving me small reasons to like them.)

I think Pixar are overrated. There's no questioning the fact that they're damn fine animators, but I don't think their stories or characters are exactly all that. The Incredibles does look fantastic, mind.

I still think Ghibli is unbeatable as of current times.

Pixar's stories are fun and colorful and tell a nice tale about one thing or another, and that's all they're trying to do. They make kids movies, I'm not expecting The Great American Movie from them.

Now, The Lion King 1 1/2 is brilliant when you realize it's basically Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead in animated form. Well, okay, not brilliant, but clever, at the very least.

I don't know how you can down Pixar's characters. The cast of Finding Nemo and Toy Story have more personality and, well, character than anything else I've seen in recent years, animated or otherwise. (This is an area I feel most Ghibli films are lacking.)

Toy Story and its surprisingly excellent sequel remain among my favorite animated films of all time. I honestly didn't care much for Bug's Life and was only marginally entertained by Monsters, Inc, but Finding Nemo was a nice comeback. I'm interested to see what they're going to come up with now that they're no longer confined by the Disney "happy story" conventions.

It's interesting that Bug's Life is the least popular Pixar movie, and is the only one Disney had a hand in. Also, if IIRC, in a trailer for the Incredibles, they run through the name of all of Pixar's movies -- and Bug's Life isn't included.

Well, yeah, again there's no doubting how appealing and interesting they are as characters-- but there's something patronising about Pixar (and Disney) plotlines that puts me off a bit. I really wish these movies would stop trying to teach us stuff and start trying to tell us stuff.

Yeah, that's Disney's doing. They have certain guidelines for animated features that Pixar has to adhere to. It's a formula and it's the reason why all Disney movies are generic, predictable, and uninteresting.

If Disney were a corndog it would probably taste really, really bad but I would eat it anyway because when you chew on something, it usually dies. I would spit out the theme parks and Even Stevens because they are cool. Then, I would wash it down with Kid's WB and FOXBOX because they take animes and chop off there privates, so you are left with just a really bad show.

Best analogy ever.

It was an analogy and not a metaphor, right? Damn, but that kid is confusing me.
