Prospects for the GC?
Battalion wars (which is basically 3D advance wars)
Fire Emblem (same as above)
Pokemon for GC, which features 'dark' pokemon... Could actually be good
Sonic Gems Collection
And Zelda of course
These are the games I'm keeping an eye on as far as the GC is concerned, it could be worse...

I stopped caring for Pokemon around the time I went through puberty.
Anyway, I really didn't think Nintendo's presentation was that bad... I mean, compared to last year and the year before that, their presentation this year was like an orgasm of info. Yeah, Nintendo should've released more info on the Revolution, but this is Nintendo we're talking about-- For all their talk about "kicking ass and taking names" they still seem to be afraid of the other companies stealing their ideas (because, as we all know, everyone copied the Gamecube's big green button), so the very fact that they showed anything on the system is a miracle.
And the thought of Smash Bros. Online is enough to make me cream my jeans.
Plus, having access to Nintendo's entire library of games (nes, snes, n64, gcn) is nice. Now that's backwards compatibility. The Revolution is still more interesting to me than the Xbox 360, which seems like a poor man's PS3. And yeah, PS3 is probably the most impressive of the 3 at this point.
Yeah, Gamecube support sucks, but then again, the Gamecube has never had a lengthy list of games to look forward to-- I mean really, you don't buy a Nintendo system for third party support or a large library of games, you buy it for the occasional, fantastic first party Nintendo game, like The Twilight Princess.
And the DS... Well, I kinda regret buying my DS. Animal Crossing Online looks cool, but its still not the killer app the system needs to compete with PSP. And the Gameboy Micro doesn't seem that bad to me. If they sell it at a cheap price point (i.e. 50-60 bucks), then it might be worth it. Or maybe I just want a GBA Micro because I'm a "trendsetter with discriminating tastes". Or maybe its because I sold my SP like an idiot and now I need a GBA for Crystal Chronicles & Four Swords.
Did Nintendo say anything about that GBA/DS video and mp3 player? I think at the end of their presentation they played some Zelda trailer compressed onto a DS, but they didn't mention anything else about it...

It's pretty feeble, but it makes sense if all you plan on doing is reading a list of game titles: unless it's a sequel to an established series, the name isn't going to have any significance on its own. And sequels are good vehicles to show off improved graphics, because it gives you something to compare it to directly. You see Dante or Cloud or whatever and you can tell instantly just how much better they look.
Think how excited you were to see Mario 64 or Sonic Adventure for the first time. How amazing was it to see those characters recreated with cutting edge graphics? Now try to imagine a disturbing world where there are people who care that much about seeing Devil May Cry 4. This hell on earth is the world in which we live.

My opinion is basically the same as SquirrelKnight's. I'm moderately excited about the Revolution because it's the only system that doesn't whore itself out to the mainstream/X-treme/MTV generation. I have much contempt for the others. And being able to download N64 games and play my GameCube games on it will be nice. Plus, it's the only one that has a decent case . . .
