Saga is different from the other Dragoon Games, it's more of an RPG. All four of them are excellent, though.

Hey, so this NiGHTS game is pretty good.

It's not just pretty good, it's pretty incredible. The only real flaw of the game is that NiGHTS only lasts about three-four hours before its finished.

Fortunately, it will probably last longer for me since I am so fucking terrible at it. Man, I've never been very precise with an analog stick. This is just embarassing.

The copy I bought off of ebay just came in a regular jewelcase. It says "NOT FOR RESALE" so it is probably the pack-in version. Anyhow, it didn't come with a manual, so I had to make full use of the GHZ's writeup to learn how to actually play this sucker. Thanks for making my life easier, GG!

Most probably everyone who first played NiGHTS was terrible at it, I know I was because of the fact that I didn't have the faintest clue of what to do. But once you start catching onto the controls of the game and how to quickly deposit the blue chips into the Ideya Capture, NiGHTS just becomes second nature. When you learn how to destroy the Capture quickly to spend the rest of the time of the Mare pulling tricks, that's when the game becomes awesome.

Yeah, everyone sucks at first. Once you get the hang of it, though, it's like one long orgasm. And it's like riding a bike, once you catch on, you never forget. A year or two ago I broke the Saturn out of the closet and put NiGHTS in after about a 4 year hiatus, and I was making straight A's right off the bat.

Also, Claris has big boobies.

I agree, Claris is really built mammary-wise.

She was even more stacked in the original Archie miniseries.

How accurate was that comic's adaption of the plot, by the way? I don't know how many of you got a chance to read it, but it was actually really good -- much better than Archie's treatment of Sonic. The script and art were both top notch. I just don't know how tightly the story followed the game.

Does that mean you didn't like it? I'm talking about the original mini series, not that piece of shit second one that Karl Bollers wrote.

It's accurate in that it seems to stick to the game's story, but true to Archie form it fleshes it out in unwelcome ways that kind of ruin it at the same time. It's not worth tracking down, at any rate (the art is nothing great either).

I don't need to track it down... I already own it. And I thought the art was great! But then, I'm a big fan of Manny Galan and Spaz's work in general. And Dan Slott's writing too, actually, although I never noticed until right now that he was the one who wrote it.

So I am the only one who liked it, eh?

I really liked it. It definitely did flesh the story out too much, since a lot of the appeal of NiGHTS lies in its ambiguity, and left out a few important elements (the non-red Ideyas were virtually ignored), but as a separate stand-alone story it was very solid. Definitely the best transition of any Sonic Team property into another medium.

I still haven't bothered to get a Saturn. Am I foolish for continuing to hope that NiGHTS and Burning Rangers someday get ports or remakes or some kind?

Everything will get ported eventually. It is inevitable.

Knowing Sonic Team's ports and "remakes" (*coughcoughsadxcoughcough*), I sincerely hope that they don't mess up with the NiGHTS legacy, or any others series, in their currently sorry state. They've already screwed Sonic to death, there's no need to add NiGHTS to the hit list.

What Silver said. The whole giant-ass Nightopian Army vs. Nightmaren Army fanfics that were all over the fandom way back were leagues better than what Archie did to it.

Of course, I may be a tad biased. *cough*

Enemy Zero and Lunacy/Torico if you have the patience.

Virtua Cop/Virtua Cop 2. Narrow shooters to be sure, but solid just the same.

Any of the Cotton titles that have slipped onto there.

Dodonpachi.

And the Segata Sanshiro game. The minigames may be crappy, but you'll own the classic commercials. Well worth the price.

Eliot: Let's kick jack-ass!
NiGHTS: That's "Jackle", partner.

That was an excerpt from the mini series? Man, the Sonic comics could never get away with that. Does Archie divide their conservatism unevenly or what?

I thought I remember "jackass" being spelled wrong, like he was being cut-off before he finished it or something.

And misspelling it makes it unoffensive?
