OMGWTF!?! Double Post! Oh noes!
It would be so awesome if they made a disaster movie based on this game. See, there's this little super-powered alien rolling up all the mass on earth into star fuel, crushing everything in it's path. And there's a cast of culturally diverse characters who must survive his rampage.
The divorced husband and wife who are thinking of getting back together, the nerdy jewish scientist, the black cop who's on the edge of retirement, his sharp-tongued rookie partner, the flamboyantly gay waiter, an old man and his dog, a single mother trying to help her kids get by, a sexy female cheerleader, and . . . .er, a really fat dude.
Directed by Jerry Bruckheimer and Eric Idle.
The shock/twist is when the fat dude gets rolled up into the star and causes it to begin to overload . . .

^Yes. And you should also search for ICO, Klonoa 2, and I heard good things about Sly Cooper also.
You search for them thoughout the levels and successfully complete it. So far I found the blue scarf in Star 2 and the crown in the Corona Borealis level. My brother managed to get in addition to the blue scarf, a wrestling championship belt.Green Gibbon! wrote:Hey, how do you get presents? King Dong keeps promising me presents if I do well, but I don't know what criteria I'm supposed to meet. I got this blue scarf, but that's it.

I'll probably sound ignorant and stupid, but when it comes to the PS2 I more or less am so here goes. Are any of those games turn-based RPGs? If they are I'll probably hate them no matter how good they are. I'm pretty sure ICO isn't and I'm positive Sly Cooper isn't so I guess my question is, is Klonoa 2 turnbased. And do I need to have any knowledge of the first game?

Klonoa 2 is a regular (albiet brilliant) platformer.
Besides FFX I actually don't own a a turn-based game for the PS2. I've got Monster Rancher 4, Magic Pengel (man, you need to play this game if you like to draw) and .hack.
Seriously though, Magic Pengel is amazing. You basically draw whatever you want in 2-D and it comes to life as a 3-D character you fight with. Just the program they use to animate your characters is worthy of a game itself. I've got the Powerpuff Girls, Optimus Prime, the lovechild of Pokey and Gumby, a giant cobra, and a couple of Chao. It RAWKS.
And it's got art from the Princess Mononoke studio.

Klonoa 2 is a 2.5D plaformer meaning it plays like 2-dimensional game like Mario and Sonic, but it has 3D graphics and 'pathways'. There is also some puzzle-like elements but they are not as heavy as the GBA Klonoa game. It's a stand alone game so you don't have to play the first Klonoa to get the story.
And the PS2 is more than just turn-based RPGs.

I really, really tried to like Magic Pengel, but after I had fun exploring the little village, it just bored me stupid. There's nothing to the combat but rock-paper-scissors, literally. It's too bad, because I think the idea really had potential. I'm hoping Okami turns out to be the game I thought Magic Pengel was going to be.
By the way, Klonoa 2 is a first-person shooter. If you're looking for a good turn-based game, check out Sly Cooper.

I think you get presents just by finding them in the stages. I think the king tells you when there's one in the level, and if I remember right it actually is a present, a box with ribbons and all. I have a crown, guitar, the scarf, and a little ducky-innertube thing that looks like a diaper. The prince looks cool with the guitar.

For starters, they can improve the camera. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel run at 60 FPS. I would also like to see holiday-themed levels i.e. Halloween, Christmas, etc.Green Gibbon! wrote:No way, it's just about perfect. It's an awesome game, but it's a one-trick pony. There's nowhere else they can go with this. It's like NiGHTS, I'll be happy playing this one until the end of time.

Oh sure, they could tweak little things here and there, but that's always the case. It would still be essentially the same game with new levels, which, in this case, wouldn't be a big enough addition or improvement to warrant the development of a sequel. For starters, they can improve the camera. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel run at 60 FPS. I would also like to see holiday-themed levels i.e. Halloween, Christmas, etc.
Still, the idea of a sequel itself doesn't bother me so much as the word "franchise."
Yeah, Klonoa 2's not all that rare. It shouldn't be hard to find a used copy.I guess I got lucky. I picked mine up this past summer for like $20. Mwahahaha.
