Anyone who's owned a cat can tell you that things would most likely play out the opposite way.

That moose is lunch.

We had an old black and white cat that my mom got since before she was married. My dad named it Mindy after the character of the same name from Mork & Mindy, which was his favorite sitcom at the time. Mindy was older than me, she didn't die until I was, like, 17 or 18.

Anyway, my dad used to have these two big German shepherds, one named King and the other named Lobo. Those dogs were scared to death of Mindy. She knew their weak point: she'd scratch right on their noses. She literally wouldn't budge, when the dogs started barking in her face, just a swipe and the law was laid down.

Needless to say, I grew up to be a cat person. Dogs are stupid.

That's interesting, my family had a German Shepherd and he was the exact same way. Our cat would actually trick him into thinking she wasn't up to anything, she'd roll over on the floor, like "c'mere and sniff my belly, you know you want to!" and then she'd snap on his head like a bear-trap, and the poor dog would run around the house trying desperately to shake her off. Thanks to her antics (and our other cat--he was more into just straight facial clawing rather than making a game out of it) our dog grew up not only totally afraid of those cats but all cats generally. Once I saw him chase a neighbor's cat until he had it cornered, but all the cat had to do was hiss and swat (and miss) and he turned around and ran away so fast he wasn't even looking where he was going and ran into a tree.

Poor doggy...I don't very much like cats (because I was raised with dogs), but I don't necessary hate them.
