↑ This. As much as I may hate the Wii, currently it's the single best middle-ground between IMAX and a handheld calculator. Although they may have a point when you think about third-parties' efforts generally not paying off on the system, save for some very particular cases (fun fact: the best selling third-party titles on GameCube and Wii are Sonic games).

As for likening the DS to a small PSX: just imagine Tail Concerto running on a 3" screen and rendered at 256 × 192 pixels. The same goes for people who suggest the GBA games were comparable to SNES ones, and that one even removed two buttons.

I've only played a couple of 3D games on the DS, but they certainly look comparable to anything I've ever played on the PS1 - it actually seems to me like a smaller screen would be beneficial for low-poly games. DQ9 looks better than DQ7, at any rate, and the clips on the Solarobo site certainly make it look graphically superior to the first one.

I guess a Wii version would still be a more desirable option, but then they'd probably feel pressured to cram in some kind of half-assed and useless waggle support. At any rate, the fact that games like this can only happen on the lower tier of the console spectrum is a huge problem, I think.

I recall Bandai mentioning that the series sold well enough to justify a sequel before, so I do not think it is that lowly of a title to not get a decent budget.
Really? Where'd you hear that? I'd heard exactly the opposite.

I cannot find where it was, so I have no idea where to look. I know they did start a sequel and I am pretty sure I saw some sort of set of screenshots of it before.

I would really like to see that, if anyone can find it.

So the title was changed to the slightly clunkier Sola to Robo for mysterious reasons, but other than that, it still looks fucking awesome.

About before: all I found was gay porn, so I never replied.

And I question why it is a spinoff if they freely use the characters from the previous game. The new main character looks overly retarded with that bone.

I don't think they're in the game proper. Those screenshots are from a download quest.

Also, the bone is awesome.

I didn't see this before, so I looked into it a little.

Is it possible that you were thinking of this? Apparently it was developed as some kind of public safety mascot and setting, but it also exists in the Tail Concerto universe (shown here).

Download quest? The DS downloads quests? And it is out?

As for those links, it was that dog with the gun device, so maybe I saw some sort of concept art and mistook it as a screen shot.

So I just looked at the site...

The game features gay looking fairy boys (not joking!) and your character can transform into a shirtless young man who is half a robot and looks like a reject Megaman character.

Awful game. Ruined. I am glad Namco is going bankrupt.

I also challange anyone to say this is not weird and awful: http://www.solarobo.channel.or.jp/system/mov/trance.flv And where are his nipples?
