Let's all act smug at the guy that doesn't "get" HD. No seriously, let's.

Unless his name is Little Rodriguez Lopez Mencia Gonzales, I think it's safe to assume he's just tanned.

Where did he even get that Latino thing? Just because Mac is ugly and short?

SO reviews are starting to come out, and all the problems I expected are rearing their head. This is essentially just a remake of a NES game with better graphics and you can finish everything in 2 hours. Oh Nintendo, why did you put everything you had on this game into the art direction? It'd probably be worth more for your money to just get Super Punch Out on the Virtual Console. Rental only except for nostolgianauts.

The 1Up Review mentions a mode you unlock once you beat the main game, which apparently helps lengthen the game quite a bit.
Scott Sharkey wrote:Title Defense mode, unlocked upon completion of the original three circuits, isn't just some kind of tacked-on bonus. In fact, it's more than half of the game.

Hahahaha, that almost makes up for the lack of Mario as referee.

This is why Nintendo is still profitable.

No, the casual market is why Nintendo is still profitable. The name-checking is just so that gamers don't call shenanigans on the changed market focus. I guarantee Wii Fit would've sold at least one more copy if there was an established IP-related minigame in it.

I still might get this game on its own merits.

Yes, a game that was so unsuccessful it warranted a re-release on Wii.

Regardless, my point was the mentality of Nintendo fans to gleefully purchase shitty games because of wacky cameos and other retarded fanservice bullshit, and not necessarily the inclusion of Donkey Kong specifically.

You're right! That's what all Nintendo fans are like. It's wacky cameos that are keeping the entire company afloat. I don't know why I said anything.

I totally wouldn't have bought Mario Galaxy if not for all the Mario characters making cameos in it.

Erm, wait . . .

I remember seeing a post on some random gaming board where this guy was insisting he absolutely would not buy Smash Bros. Brawl because King K. Rool wasn't playable. For the third time in a row!

They should throw him into Punch Out! That's a guaranteed sale right there.

The idea of King K. Rool getting in is totally ridiculous until you remember fucking Wolf.

Video of said fight by the same guy who made the photos.

Also how's K. Rool getting into SSB ridiculous? He's the main antagonist of the Donkey Kong series and he's been in a fair amount of games.

And DK's still the 4th best-selling Nintendo franchise even after a fumbling decade of mediocre titles and neglect, so yeah, the inclusion of its major villain is warranted.

Ridley was probably demanded much more than K. Rool, and he's a much less likely candidate.

As an antagonist K. Rool gets the job done, but as a playable character he's just a malformed Bowser.
