Not only that, but Mask of the Phantasm was the only Batman story in recent memory that effectively pulled off a Batman love story. And it made sense with the character, too, it didn't feel tacked on at all. I just loved how Andrea Beaumont seemed, at first, to represent Bruce's lighter side and what he could've had, as far as a happy, normal life goes; and then, it turns out she's actually what Batman could've been had he not kept a handle on his sanity. You could tell the producers just get Batman.Esrever wrote:Man, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was great. It will always be the definitive Batman movie for me. I love the way that they came up with a plot that could work in aspects of Batman's origin without actually making an "origin" movie, and work in the Joker without actually making a "Joker" movie. So tight. Plus it was great to see a Batman cartoon free of the censors... where it was actually possible to DO a movie about a series of murders. And the Phantasm was awesome.
"See No Evil" was the episode you're thinking of.Was "Out of Sight" the episode with the guy who could turn invisible?
Of course not. Aside from the Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine (which were both great), The Majestic was also pretty good, I thought. Carrey really doesn't get the credit he deserves. Also, are there people who DON'T like the Truman Show?
The upcoming Tenacious D full-length movie. It's gonna fucking own everyone and change cinema as we know it.And rewinding ever so slightly, what the hell is Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny?
Hopefully, the movie is in the same vein as their short-lived HBO series (if you don't know what I'm talking about, run out and buy Tenacious D: The Complete Masterworks DVD right now, bitch). Isn't Liam Lynch directing? If he is, it'll definitely rock.
