Animal Crossing should be more of a combination of The Sims/Viva Pinata/Harvest Moon.

At Nintendo headquarters:
Gee, guys! The revealing of Animal Crossing: City Folk managed to actually excite some gamers! How do we fix that? Oh, by selling the much-advertised part of the game separately! What's that? That's stupid? Sorry, I cant hear you over my piles of money.

The closed-door press conference hasn't shown any new announcements yet, but there are some new details on AC, including what appears to be the ability to transfer your character & items from Wild World to City Folk.

Thank god. Also, Pikmin Wii, anyone?
Actually, no. You can use your DS to take your City Folk character to a friend's house and visit their City Folk game physically. Nothing was said about connecting with Wild World. That's why I said "appears".
It's a running blog, so its natural to get a few things mixed up while listening and typing, especially when using a translator.

Take the following with a grain of salt:
Also the City has a new clothing shop owned by that bitchy Giraffe, Gracie.- Halloween is returning from the original Gamecube release, as is the Jingle character for the winter holiday season. New is Easter, and a Carnival with minigames.
- WiiConnect 24 will feed players new items and surprises.
- New to 'City Folk is a city theater that puts on comedy skits.
- You can visit your friend's city without them needing to be there.
- The Able Sisters will now allow you to decorate the front, back, and sleeves of your shirts.
- 'City Folk interacts with the Photo Channel so that you can send pictures to your friends or save them to a SD card.
- If you have a friend that leaves the town, the connection will disappear for everyone...just like Wild World
- Animal Crossing: Wild World fans can transport their character to City Folk, and gamers can also transport their collections. All this requires is a visit to Tom Nook in the Wii version.
- Players without WiFi can take their City Folk character data with them on their Nintendo DS to visit a friend's town.
- Brand new (i.e. not hidden on the disc) downloadable content is being developed for the game.
- Bummer, classic Nintendo games will not be returning.
- City Folk will not interact with the Wii Forecast Channel, as has been speculated.
- Gamers within the southern hemisphere will see their seasons inverted from gamers in the northern hemisphere.

It has a lot of "Sidequests" glued together, you cant die or get really hurt. It a great way to waste time and pretend you have friends. And those are all The reasons I can think off right now...One Classy Bloke wrote:
Why is this game popular? I honestly don't know.
