I don't have any reason to use Japanese language settings on a game unless the voice acting is really bad. I wouldn't want an import game either because it would just look awkward with all my NTSC games. I guess I'm just too American.

When SA1 came out, I was too blown away that Sonic had gone from sprite animations trying to tell a story to full-on dialog, satisfying that little piece of me that still missed the cartoons too much to care how shitty the voices were. I don't really have an excuse for Heroes and Shadow, since one had a lack of a good plot, and one had a lack of a plot altogether, except maybe force of habit.

I really like Sonic and Eggman's voice actors, they're perfect for the characters. I was never too fond of the voices they had in the 1996 two part OVA.

I'm mostly neutral to the other Japanese voices. With the exception of Omochao they didn't annoy me, which was good enough. I guess Gerald Robotnik was good too.

Whilst we're on the topic, are there any clips of Metal Sonic's Japanese voice from Sonic Heroes floating around anywhere?

Uhmm, here? Or you mean, like, MP3's of it?

EDIT: OH SNAP, he's voiced by Kanemaru too! That explains why he sounds so cool.

I like the Japanese voices, because since I can't understand Japanese at all, I can just read the subtitles and pretend the acting is good regardless of whether or not it actually is!

I wonder if Japanese players turn on English voices if the Japanese voice acting in their games are bad.

"SO, WE ARE SONIC HEROES"

I know Kanemaru has a fetish for Engrish, but that was just wrong. :|
