Iguazu by Gustavo Santaolalla has a very interesting mix of energy and calm to it.

I'm absolutely desperate for something that I can listen to without fear of having my brain squeeze out through my pores in an attempt to escape.

SK is exempt because I already know what he's going to say.

What do you guys think of Modest Mouse? I've heard of them but never listened to any of their music until I burned their latest album "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" after hearing how incredible it is.

I was little let down at first (my expectations were probably too high) but it's growing on me quickly.

Modest Mouse is quite good. I suggest you download "Cowboy Dan" & "Tiny Cities Made of Ashes."

The only song I've heard by them was Bukowski, which I liked. I was to lazy to find anymore of their music though.

"Bukowski" is very good. Are you sure you haven't heard "Float On"? Turn on your local new rock/alternative radio station right now; it's probably on.

If you don't want to bother downloading the entire album (which is fairly easy with Soulseek, I'd suggest giving that a try if you're into albums instead of songs), I'd recommend, in this order:

"Blame it on the Tetons" (If you liked "Bukowski", you'll definitely like this)
"Black Cadillacs"
"The View"
"Bury Me With It"

My main criticism with Modest Mouse is that their songs all seem to run a minute too long. It's not that their songs are long, because they aren't; most of them are the standard four minutes or less. It's just that a lot of the songs simply drag on and slightly damper what would've been a really killer song, I think. There's still bits of being a "jam band" in them.

The latest album I purchased is pretty good. I bought:

The Sounds "Living in America" album. I must say, I like what I hear. They are indie and very new wave and pop-sounding. It's like Garbage meets ABBA. Good stuff, if your into that.

Key tracks:
"Dance With Me"
"Living in America"
"Hit Me!"
"Mine For Life"
"Rock'N Roll"

Oh, I know. It's just that, Garbage is one of my favorite bands, and ABBA... I am not fond of them, let's say. So, you see. :D

You should check out the Schoolyard Heroes, Del... it's like Garbage meets System of a Down. Or something. It's good!

Oh, hey... the new They Might Be Giants song, "Experimental Film," is great. But if you visit Homestar Runner, you've probably already heard it.
