Dragonball Z and GT were crappy, I like Dragonball though. I can't stand Yugi Oh or Digimon or Pokemon. I watched most of Witch Hunter Robin, but it wasn't very interesting. I don't know why I don't like like it, I just remember watching the episodes waiting for whatever came on after it. I liked G Gundam, just not the first half of it. Once they actually started doing stuff it got good. The Wind Mill gundam was awesome, same as the freaking Mermaid gundam. Those designs were so stupid, but they were awesome. But SD Gundam show is crap. And I can't think of any other shows I've seen that I don't like, I haven't seen that many.

DBZ, Sailor Moon, Utena (what the hell is this show), Love Hina, Excel Saga, Fushigi Yugi (I HATE this genre of anime i HATE this lovey dovey shit), Ayashino Ceres (its the same goddamn thing as FY), Yu yu, Slam Dunk, Big O, X, Card Captor, Chobits, Magic Night Reyearth (I liked the saturn game though), I found that anything by CLAMP sucks ass, anything thats airing on toonami or aldult swim ( i seriously hate coqboy Bepop despite its cool combat), Im not going to pick on the kids shows bt digimon in particular makes me barf.
I tend not to like the shows where all the main characters are girls minus one male character who you will swear is actually a girl in disguise. The only exception I've come across is Bakuretsu Tenshi (burst Angeel). Ive really been enjoying the fansubs of these episodes lately.

People, people, people. You can't judge the taste of sour cream if it's expired. You can say "Holy Crap! That's about the worst tasting sour cream i've ever put down my oral cavity!" because the sour cream may have tasted good once. It's the fault of mold. Just like anime. Some anime shows (sour cream) are awesome. but, when they aren't educated in which types of American anime translation companies and editing companies (bacteria) are good. Some may be really good companies that preserve the pure taste of the anime. some may be really bad companies (mold) that completley f*** up the anime, ex.:FUNimation or some of those FOX BOX translating companies. So you only get a nasty, americanized anime (sour cream), but that doesn't mean the anime wasn't really good before America messed it up. So don't say Sonic X or Dragon Ball or Digi--(never mind, Digimon sucks anyway!)sucks unless youve actually seen the japanese version...
I'll shut up now.

I was actually just referring to the concept of an alien babe landing on earth and screwing up the life of a normal guy who falls in love with her despite the fact that she is an alien babe who is screwing up his life.I don't really think the underlying theme of FLCL is that common. It's definately your standard coming of age tale if you dig far enough.
It never seemed to me that Naota was forcing himself to be mature, he just naturally was, and all these other (mostly older) fruit loops around him misinterpreted it. So I don't see it as a coming of age story, but more of a: "Well, my life was weird, but kind of boring, then all this fucked up shit happened and when it was over things were even more normal than before except for the TV robot who cleans our house now, but I ended up with the girl I should've been with in the first place so... whatever." Yeah, that's what FLCL is. It's a "whatever" story.
I only saw the first 12 or 13 episodes of Escaflowne. At the time I perceived it as being decent, though thinking back it must've been godawful cheesy. Either way, I've never really had the urge to finish watching it.

My main problem with Sonic X isn't the horrible dubbing, it's Chris. Until they make the episode when Metal Sonic comes and evicerates Chris in his sleep, I won't like Sonic X.
Also, I guess I was wrong in assuming that the show would be about, y'know, Sonic. When I decided to stop watching the show, it seemed that every episode was focused on one of Sonic's friends. I already find Cream and Amy insufferable, so putting up with nothing but their dialogue for 22 minutes is hard for me.

I base all of my opinions on the Japanese versions. Guess what? The Original, unedited version of all the Dragonballs... suck. Yeah, the voices sound better, but the plot is still shit.daytonafathead wrote:So don't say Sonic X or Dragon Ball or Digi--(never mind, Digimon sucks anyway!)sucks unless youve actually seen the japanese version...

And America doesn't mess EVERYTHING up. I'd rather watch the Hellsing dub than listen to the Japanese VAs try to pronounce English.

Haa, X/1999 the movie was great. Let's introduce this character OMG THEY'RE DEAD now here's another one OMG DEAD and another one DEAD ANGST ANGST EVERYONE'S DEAD OMG WHAT DO I DOOOOOOOOOO CRYCRY the end. It's hilarious! The TV show was good up until episode 20, but then they ran out of manga and had to make it up. Eheheh. LAME.
What are you on? The Chobits anime sucks. Read the manga.

Man, Del reminded me. Weiss Kreuz, man. I had this friend. And she was a girl. Her name was Rose. This was back during the heyday of trading fansubbed anime VHS tapes across the internet -- and she was like "omg omg omg omg you have to see Weiss Kreuz it is so awesome" and it turned out to be some lame bishonen detective show that bored the living HELL out of me. I wanted her to send me some Utena, or maybe some more Evangelion, but NO, she had to stuff four episodes of Weiss Kreuz on. And she still owes me the last two episode of Fushigi Yuugi. :| Had she not sent me Weess Kreuz, I could've seen the whole series.
Another thing I hated -- back when SciFi would run "Saturday Anime" movies at like, 3am - the dumbest, most boring anime movie ever; "L.I.L.Y. cat". Some super gross dull ripoff of Alien with an alien made out of what can only be described as "a skinned alive human stretching and contorting like a blob of jello" killing lots of stuff. Horrible, horrible movie.
Me, I enjoyed FLCL probably for all the wrong reasons. When I saw FLCL I was browsing WinampTV, and inbetween the six dozen porn channels, I noticed someone was streaming FLCL episodes. I started it up only to see Haruko whip out a guitar, fire it like a shotgun and scare the shit out of the police, only to don a bunnie outfit and ride the very same guitar through the sky to do battle with a giant robot. From there I saw episodes 3-6, and I enjoyed the madness. After that I quit and I haven't seen the channel crop up on Winamp since.

HAH, I remember LILY Cat! That really is the bottom of the barrel, and I've seen a lot of crap. I don't really think of any anime as being worth the trouble of developing a real hatred for, so I tend to forget about the shows I don't like and just move on. (I was trying to remember the name of a particular show recently that I didn't like and couldn't recall it at all..) But wow, LILY Cat. That was awful. I can't believe they put it on TV.

I do. I just got volume 5/8 yesterday. Of course the Manga is better, but i still like the anime too. Not sure which is the better out of the Angelic Layer anime/manga though.Delphine wrote:What are you on? The Chobits anime sucks. Read the manga.
I dunno - i just really enjoy it. I remember seeing the back cover art in my local shop a few years ago. Seeing the picture of the lesbian demon/teacher with her tongue stuck out with an eyeball covered in saliva scared the crap out of me - yet i was intrigued. A few years later when i finally had the balls to watch it, i was amazed how brilliant it was. Fucked up? Oh yes, but brilliant. Mind you i don't watch Hentai, and Urotsukidoji aside, i doubt i will - except for the Urotsukidoji sequels - but i've heard they are crap. And in the case of part 4, 2 of the 3 episodes have been banned outright over here in the UK. (The entire series has been cut in order to be released over here).radrappy wrote:And what the hell is the deal with Urotsukidoji anyway?
Also - i seem a lot of my message has been edited. Did i say something wrong?

That epic explanation is precisely the reason I want nothing to do with Urotsukidoji. I'd like to see Pierre Bernard take this one on.

I'm sure I said this somewhere before...
I have an aversion to anything with the suffix "-chan" in the title on general principle.

Wedding Peach. It's like Sailor Moon, but with the girls wearing wedding dresses and the animation and art are even worse (I like Sailor Moon, but damn was its animation budget crappy). The female leads sucked ass, too, and fantasized about this boring, bland, but supposedly, handsome star of their school's soccer team short of wanting to get into bed with the guy. But that wasn't all. The music was horrible, voice acting was weak (and what voices weren't weak were wasted, famous voice actors/actresses), plot took forever to develop, writing was terrible..and somehow, the dub is even worse. Why the Hell did ADV release this shit pile in America?!?!
I hate Colorful as well, and I'm a pervert. Considering the whole series revolves close-ups of women's panties, breasts, and butts, you think it would hurt them to make it somewhat interesting (or at least give us women who were GOOD-LOOKING).
And I hate Sonic X because, like Pokemon (and later Kirby: Right Back At Ya!) was, it's just an excuse to advertise for more games inside a TV series. And I hate Chris, as well as the Sonic X versions of Amy, Cream, and Tails. But I bet everyone already knew that.
