Ok!
But getting back to something you asked about half a thread ago, Ancel is doing the King Kong game. But apparently Peter Jackson was a fan of BG&E, and requested Ancel by name. I don't know... the game looks promising, but it's hard to get excited about it because I don't really care about the film at all.

I hate to go on about it, but BG&E was soo average. Really. There was nothing really inovative in it. The combat system was boring and repetitive (get your buddy to do their attack then do yours, repeat). The stealth bits were rubbish and the camera for them was worse meaning I, at least, had to play many of them several times till I knew the guards routes, which was really tedious. The photo thing was interesting but, I felt, a really awkward gimmick that, whilst not making the game worse, certainly didn't make it better than any game without such a device. The story was nice, the anti-coporate, enviromentalist thing was well intentioned but so lacking in 'oomph', it seemed really dull and barely relevant to 'politics' or whatever they were trying to get across. Forgettable enough that I've forgotten most of it.
Anyway, my soapbox away, I'll admit I gave up before I got to the space bits. After setting really low targets for orb collections before, it ramped them up for the space engines so I would have had to revisit almost every location (and those awful stealth pieces) to proceed. I couldn't be bothered and maybe I'd think the game was double-ace if I'd persevered but my impression was of severe mediocracy disguised with some awful political story.

It's true that many of BG&E's individual gameplay components -- the stealth, the combat, the photos, the hovercrafts, etc -- were not particularly innovative. What made BG&E so good, though, was how it managed to do so many different things, do them all well, and integrate them seemlessly in the service a single (excellent) story.

I don't know if I remember everything exactly cause I was under the influnce of painkillers when I played this game, but I seem to recall finding several locations that I hadn't been to before that gave me liek 10+ of the orb things each. Also the twist at the end, after you get into space mind you, was definately unexpected by me at least.Adam Adamant wrote:Anyway, my soapbox away, I'll admit I gave up before I got to the space bits. Is it just me or is the used version of the game 6 bucks more than the new version?

That actually happens sometimes. If it's a game that's been discontinued, they mark it down to purge any remaining stock. Used games, however, are always active in the system. In instances where a game is discontinued very quickly (usually in the case of a game that isn't selling), there will often be leftover stock of factory-sealed games that sell for cheaper than the used ones.
