It's not Ghibli, but I just saw Tokyo Godfathers for the first time. Very entertaining movie; I really enjoyed the theme of family and the great number of coincidences throughout the story. Also, I love it when Japanimation is high-quality -- nothing compares to it. The only movies with that kind of animation that I can think of immediately are the Ghibli films and Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door.

Speaking of Bebop, there was a great moment in Godfathers where some punk kid tries to pull off Spike-like martial art moves and knocks himself to the ground. Priceless.

Truthfully, I liked Kaze no Tani no Naushika. My Japanese teacher leant me a copy he'd recorded back on Japanese cable. Spirited Away was frikkin amazing in my opinion. Mononoke was extremely beautiful not only visually, but the sense of culture gave me an awesome feeling. Neko no Ongaeshi was kinda cool I think, considering I've only seen the Japanese version. (Along with the second collection of Ghiblies, which to me was like Miyazaki gone FLCL X3) I admire Miyazaki quite alot, seeing how he's one of the few people, let alone Japanese people who are able to understand and appreciate traditional lifestyle, the outside world, and unfortunately one of the few who still believe traditional animation is worth something. ;_; Hope I can live up to his name as an animator.
