That didn't last long at all.
Anyone pick up the Sonic X comic? I had no intention of doing so but was wondering around town today and *had* to pick it up. The excuse I'm using in my head is that I'll have something in front of me to help me draw the characters in different poses. Also the fact I was reminded of good 'ol 'STC' which I collected back in the day (and stopped when it got crap, re-printing older stories)
It’s er.. Got Dr. Eggman in it and stuff. And Rings.

They sell Archie Sonic comics on the newsstand there? I thought that you had to personally import them since I heard reports that retailers in the UK don't seel them.PSMad wrote:Anyone pick up the Sonic X comic? I read the first issue of the Sonic X comic, and it's awful. I don't like the Sonic comics (and Sonic X) in the first place, but Archie's Sonic X was just bad. The writing is dumb (let's make Eggman sound retarded about him asking about human currency!), the art is bad (no detial whatsoever in backgrounds), and, of course, lots of Chris, Amy, and Cream. And Sonic STILL being OOC compared to his video game counterpart.
Yawn.
Yawn.

i admit, none of the sonic cartoons so far seem to strictly follow the games, though i would say Sonic X follows them much more than any other. still, after hearing that it would follow the games (sort of, anyways) and seeing that it has a lot of characters from the games, it's just a tad dissappointing watching some of the extra storylines that the writers cooked up. i''ve yet to watch a Sonic X episode and be all like "That kicked ass!", and thus, i dub it "blah".As opposed to what, Sonic Underground, which followed the games more so?

I read the Sonic X comic on a comic stand inside Waldenbooks (or Walden Express or whatever it's called now), and while it felt rushed and tend to move around in various places, it was a decent first issue. I just didn't wanted to buy it because I didn't feel like spending money outside from the food court.

I always assumed Eggman mined his own resources and things thus would have no concept of money. He's not in the taking over the world business for the cash either. So taking into account the storyline the cartoon and comic have going I thought it was one of the more interesting aspects (if not the only interesting aspect) of that issue.

I agree. I love a number of shows and such whose primary audience was intended to be childeren.Baba O'Reily wrote:And not all 'children's shows' need to be shit.
I actually think Sonic X was pretty well done as a kid's show. There's nothing wrong or badly done in it, it's just that it lacks anything that would interest an adult. Even the "action" sequences were lame, which is strange for an action based franchise, but it added to the kid's show feeling I got from it.

i think the whole problem with cartoons is that most people think that they are only for kids. considering the amount of cartoons i watch increases as i age, i would hope they don't all become pieces of trash meant to appeal to the lowest denominator. not that i think kids don't deserve good tv, just that i think cartoons can be for everyone.
