I bought a DS because I liked the idea behind it... and I'm still waiting for a game to fully realise this idea. So Wario Ware and Mario 64 were good to start with, especially as I'd never played Mario 64 anyway... and Sonic Rush looks ok actually... but it's not what I was hoping for.

The PSP I'll have to find really cheap before I plump for one. The idea behind that? Portable, watered down PS2 games. Mmm, not for me taa.

How about those Nintendogs?

Anyway, the PSP is a nice handheld. Pity that the biggest selling point in that system at least in this country are the movies in UMD format instead of the games. =P

And how much would it cost to get the touch screen fixed? Most of the DS in the local shopping centre are unplayable because the touch screen is so fucked up and doesn't register stylus correctly.

I sent my DS to get fixed awhile back (there was a rather unsightly scratch on the touch screen), and since I had a warranty, Nintendo did it for free (they even paid the shipping and handling), but I believe DS repairs from Nintendo without a warranty will run you around 75 bucks. It only took them a week to repair it and ship it back to me, too.

I was disappointed with my DS at first, but now it's finally beginning to pick up some steam. With Castlevania DS, Lost in Blue and that Treasure-developed Bleach game coming out soon, I'm beginning to think that the DS was a good purchase.

Oh yeah, Nintendogs is fun (for a week), and Jump Superstars kicks ass.

Has anyone picked up the new Advanced Wars for the DS? How does it measure up as a whole to the series? And does it happen to make good use of that second screen?

You'd think they'd learn after four and a half years.

Advance (Observe, no 'D') Wars is possibly the most intellectually stimulating game on a portable system right now.

All I would like to say is that not only is it Mario's birthday, but Luigi's as well. You all fail for not noticing this sooner!

While we are back on topic I might as well show you this rather unusual fan gallery (japanese of course) dedicated to the 20th anniversary. Just pick a gallery on the right, preferably the top one.
