In addition Miguzi was also created to get girls back into watching the network since CN was losing them to Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel, especially. Miguzi was created for a gender neutral block since Toonami was drawing girls away from it. I mean the only cartoon on the block that will turn girls 6-11 away the most is TMNT.

I'm obviously missing out on something good here.Prince. Of. Tennis.

Holy crap! A show with hot-looking anime guys in which the males DON'T look like women without boobs - but rather they actually look like . . . MALES.
Frankly, I was starting to get bored with most anime/yaoi guys, simply because most of them are so overly feminine - they stop being men and move on to being flat chested women . . . .

Though, I only seen the preview that was in a SJ issue, so I'm probably missing something.
In other news, I think Kiba's(Wolf's Rain) human form looks gorgeous.

What people fail to realize is that just because its anime doesnt make it any damn good. Just as theres a lot of shit american animation, theres a lot of shit anime too.
Personally - ive finally gotten the chance to watch it now and I think Witch Hunter Robin is the equivalent of watching paint peel, grass grow, and molasses drip simultaneously. Its boring. Same goes for Wolf's Rain though I do find it more interesting than WHR.
Currently I'm ENTHRALLED with Detective Conan. Literally I drop everything to watch it and will probably get the box sets when they are ready.
What AS Saturdays needs is something GOOD. Who cares if its anime if its completely unwatchable to begin with.

Which is why, I'm hoping the future they will change their minds and actually air Fullmetal Alchemist at 11:00...or I can even accept 11:30 after Futurama (cause Sealab 2021 is teh s uck). In terms of quality, pacing, and accessiblity--FMA >> WR >>>> WHR.What AS Saturdays needs is something GOOD. Who cares if its anime if its completely unwatchable to begin with.
And pushing back CC at 1:00 am for IY reruns is still a big mistake.

From SwimBuddha at the Adult Swim message boards:
And R.O.D., oh my! Maybe they really are still trying?
Caving into internet fanboys is what got them into this mess, and I'm happy to see that it's also what got them out. I still think that FMA and GitS should air the other way around, but whatever. The one time I watched Cartoon Network in my entire life, I saw Toonami and ASA back-to-back. I thought it was a fantastic schedule, and I'm glad to see that they're clinging onto it.We're happy to announce the premiere of two anime movies: InuYasha: The Love That Transcends Time at midnight on October 23 and Read or Die, airing at midnight on November 6.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex will now premiere November 6 at 11 p.m., followed by Fullmetal Alchemist at 11:30 p.m., pushing The Venture Brothers to 1 a.m. and Futurama to 1:30 a.m.
And R.O.D., oh my! Maybe they really are still trying?

Are you sure?
I just recently saw the stupid commercial for SeaLab on Sat., but nothing happened yet (then again I did miss last Saturdays Inu and Wolf's Rain
Can anyone tell me what happened last Sat.?) I would have to say I'm a little pissed they're doing this, but then again, the whole structure of Adult Swim was always about the comedies; it's sad to sya, but Action is only a backlot for all the anime that they can't show or edit for Toonami. Upon Retrospect:
-A whole bunch of SeaLab episodes have been ordered up, and with it's extreme popularity and The DVD release (not to mention it's made directly from William Street), of course AS will do anything in it's power to milk it until it's dry. But more to the point: SeaLab has a new captain!!! Where's Murphy?!
- ATHF is the franshise of AS. I have not seen a banner, poster, t-shirt, or sign that doesn't has their faces on them. Why you think they have an entire half-hour devoted to them.
-Futurama was made by Matt Groening. Matt created The Simpsons. Simpsons or anything connected to them = money. Re-runs or not, the numbers add themselves.
-While not succcesfull on it's first home, Family Guy has flourished on AS. It became so succesful that now creator Seth MacFarlane has confirmed a new season for FG. But what's troubling is that instead of immedietly coming to AS, he decided to go back to FOX for season 2. Has he not learned his lesson already?!
-Brak, Baby Blues and Mission Hill are all throwaways. Its AS's way of convincing the anime fans that comedy has more power.
-Cowboy Bebop is to AS as the monkey fighters of DBGT is to Toonami and the Teen Titans are to Miguzi: It is the action franshise. So no matter how many times they repeat the season, until they get the movie the won't stop.
-If Cowboy Bebop is DBGT, then Inu-Yasha is Yu-Yu Hakusho: Just as good, if better than the franchise but not as merchandiseable or relevant for the producers. Inu-Yasha is simply one of the best anime ever and is quickly getting ready to subplant DBZ as the most popular toon in the minds of teens everywhere. I just played the fighting game...a little simplistic but addictive!!
-Witch Hunter Robin and Big O are there only for those who want to think while seeing anime.
-Case Close is a very good show. While not as action packed as the others, this is a very interesting show that may have people actually try to solve the cases along with Conan (I do
). It's very cool and since Funimation (the show's producers) is very tight with CN, expect this show to stay.

yo beeyotch?!!!
YO WILL YOU PLEASE GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY CASE AND BOTHER SOMEONE ELSE!!! I KNOW COWBOY BEBOP IS BETTER THAN DBGT, I WAS COMPARING THEM BASED ON VIEWER RATINGS AND FRANCHISE SELECTION!!! FUCK, DUELMASTERS IS A FRIKKING TURD, BUT FOR REASONS UNKNOWN, IT'S THE HIGHEST RATED SHOW ON JAPAN. DBGT IS THE HIGHEST RATED SHOW FOR THE 12-17 DEMOGRAPHIC, AND BEBOP IS (OR WAS) THE HIGHEST RATED ACTION SHOW ON ADULT SWIM, THUS CONVERTING IT TO FRANCHISE STATUS. BUT THEN YOU WOULD KNOW THIS IF YOU STOP MESSING WITH OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES!!!Delphine wrote:...did you just compare Cowboy Bebop to DRAGONBALL FUCKING GT?

Hey, you keep making stupid points and people will keep pointing it out.
Case in point...
(That said, I love ATHF)
oh, wait.

Devoting a whole half hour to a show? Getrightouttatown! I'm sure it has nothing to do with making scheduling easier.Sonniku The Battousai wrote:- ATHF is the franshise of AS. Yeah, your formula makes lots of sense! Especially considering that Futurama was originally cancelled!-Futurama was made by Matt Groening. Matt created The Simpsons. Simpsons or anything connected to them = money. Re-runs or not, the numbers add themselves.
oh, wait.
Family Guy is returning mainly due to DVD sales, though Adult Swim has helped the show immensely, too. Mainly because they keep it in the same time slot consistently.-While not succcesfull on it's first home, Family Guy has flourished on AS. It became so succesful that now creator Seth MacFarlane has confirmed a new season for FG. But what's troubling is that instead of immedietly coming to AS, he decided to go back to FOX for season 2. Re: Are you sure?
I was gonna yell you off for comenting on my Sonic Story and call you people "a bunch of college dropouts with nothing better to do than insult people" but this post has some good points. It is true that ATHF does make the weekday schedule much easier, but they could have done the same by mixing ATHF and SL2021 togehter like on Sun. The ATHF 1/2 hr block is mainly due to it's immense popularity. If SeaLab actually manages to subplant ATHF as the franchise, then I predict that ATHF will go back to being Sunday exclusive, and SL will have a half-hour block on Weekdays. And yes, Futurama was cancelled...but I don't see it joining it's bretheren of Baby Blues, Brak and Mission Hill in the cancelled shows section. Like I said, Matt Groening created the Simpsons: that statement alone assures the viewer of the type of quality and humor this show will bring and that's why it's still in the top runnings. And finally, you have a point: The FG DVD sales is a signifigant force behind it's comeback, but without AS airing it, The DVD sales would have decreased in value.Amazing Grant wrote:EDIT:Re: the unreadable post above me.

While we're on the subject, I think it was a mistake to replace Captain Murphy at all. The new Captain doesn't really add anything to the show, and there's nothing the character has said or done so far that couldn't be done or said by Stormy or Marco . . . without the talented voice actor, the captain is kind of superfluous.
Like nipples on a man. There's no reason for them to be there. They just are.
That being said, I wouldn't want my nipples removed. I've gotten used to them. But if one was cut off in a tragic gardening accident, I wouldn't replace it with a refrigerator magnet.
See what I mean when I said people think I'm high 24/7?
