I'm either buying this or De Blob when I go to buy Sonic Chronicles this week. I'm leaning towards De Blob. Anyone wanna try to convince me otherwise?

Having now beaten the final boss, it suddenly dawns on me that I really haven't seen half the game yet. Beat all the challenges, get the secret levels, beat the secret levels, beat all the secret levels' challenges... and they said this game was short! I mean, sure, I beat it in five days, but that's only because I was forcing myself to (rental, remember). If I'd taken it at a more leisurely pace, this thing'd have taken a good while.

I only have one disappointment, plotwise... No Captain Syrup fight. :| (She does steal the bag from Wario at the very end, though, so just in case you thought they were actually on chummy terms and disappointed at this, take heart - they're definitely not.)

Oh, and the Shake King is friggin' hard. I needed the game's equivalent of Zelda's fairy-in-a-bottle to take him out; his first form is pretty easy (despite having attacks that take out a sizable chunk of health), but his second form he pulls out all the stops. Imagine, if you will, (spoilers for those who don't want to hear everything the dude does) he starts by sending lightning bolts from the ceiling (all while those bouncing balls remain in play), and then crashes down onto the ground, sending shockwaves left and right. Then he does the ramming attack, which is the only time he's vulnerable; he dashes left and right three times, and you have to jump on him each time to make him vulnerable (and God help you if you hit his HORNS instead, since that does damage). Vulnerability period over with, he shoots out a big laser and drags that across all the stage aside from the far end, stops there for a second, shoots out a GIANT laser which quickly shrinks back down to the big one, and drags that in the other direction. Repeat a few times, and then he throws two large waves of high-bouncing fireballs at you, and while you're dodging that, he throws three electricity balls that proceed to bounce all over the stage. As soon as those are in play, he pounds the ground in an attempt to upset your balance, so he can charge at you and shake you silly (taking out two hearts - that's anywhere from a quarter to 2/5 of your health, depending on how many heart containers you bought). Then he does the lightning bolts again (while the lightning balls are in play), and it repeats from there. That's like a good minute of dodging for a splitsecond chance to do some damage, and if you miss even once when he's dashing left and right, you'll have to wait out the entire cycle for his next opening. It's surprisingly tougher than anything I was expecting from a Wario game...
