I'm not sure, though the word "paradox" comes to mind...

I bet I'm the only person in the universe who saw the option to dress your Mii up as Waluigi and thought, "THAT'S AWESOME!"

...

I'll get me coat.

Walugui and Birbo need to team up and be the villains of some forgetable DS game where Martio&Wario team up to save the day (And get rich!).

There's a demo of the DS version on the Nintendo Channel now(well, the UK one at least). However, it doesn't seem to work. I've tried downloading it twice and both times it just comes up with the Nintendo logo and doesn't go any further. Maybe the game is even more broken than Sonic '06.

The demo seems to be working now. It consists of the alpine skiing event with Mario & Sonic as the only playable characters. It's not bad but the touch screen controls just feel awkward and it doesn't make me want to get the full game.

There's a Sonic Chronicles stage in the game. Never would've seen that 1 coming.

Wow. That actually looks kind of cool.

I hope this means that SEGA hasn't completely abandoned the Sonic Chronicles storyline. As imperfect as the first game was, I'm eager to see how it's resolved.

...wha...?

I guess this is because Japan got Chronicles as recently as August.

This is probably the most awful news I have read about the game so far.

Mario gets normal stuff, then Sonic gets all the weird furry-anime-drama things.

Which makes it a good representation of the series.

Umm, hey, new here. I've lurked for a while, don't bite me please! (Unless it's one of those bites that ends with both of us in tight black leather and chains, and a slightly less-nutritious carrot.)

Mario And Sonic at the Olympics? Wow, and I thought SEGA couldn't be anymore of a whore. Now I find they're whores who cater to scat fetishists who have a thing for watersports and bloodplay. I guess the washed up event that is the Olympics needs washed up mascots, and let's face it, nobody was going for those idiotic sock monkey-esque saccharine overdose sacks of shit they'll be using in 2010 anyway. (Miga the FUCKING SEABEAR!? That shit makes Charmy The Bee seem like Bill Rizer. The only way you could get more sugarsick than looking at these mascots is if you sucked a Care Bear dick (not speaking from experience but rather conjecture.))

I asked one of my cousin's little friends to explain the story of Sonic X to me back when it was on those GBAVideo carts (the ones that looked like colored diarrhea and sounded like flatulence through a kazoo with a high-pass filter) and he didn't even know what it was about, he just said "I LIKE SONIC!". As consequence of that exchange, I am now pro-choice.

Wow. You're like J.C.14, Dasher, and Arcade rolled up into one unsavory package. With sadomasochistic tendencies.

Welcome to our nightmare, Needlemouse.

I guess that's not exactly a compliment (Out of the people you mentioned, I'm only familiar with the less-than-stellar postings of Arcade but then again everything about the Sonic series/fandom is less-than-stellar, no?) but I appreciate the welcome just the same.

Seems like this is your routine (of what I've seen of you guys). New user = new entertainment parameter for the entertainment method shared by the hivemind of this forum.

Question (with a bit of exposition) Looking at previous postings, it seems people can't come in acting like people who actually CARE about this franchise, as they will be flamed to hell and back and driven away/humiliated/banned. If you come in and (to the best of one's ability) try to act like a jaded asshole (or in my case, try not to hide the fact that you are a jaded asshole), you fair a bit better, but all it does is prolong the eventual shitstorm. So the question I pose to you is thus: If you hate people so much, why not just disable registration or set up moderated account validation and just ignore requests (ala Ishkur board, the only other group of people that I can think of who act as jaded and assholic (the properties of being an asshole, not one who is addicted to ass) about a topic with similar lack of relevance to anything in particular)?

Another question would be "Why is there no GHZ Encyclopedia Dramatica page?", but that's most likely due to the incredible wealth of Sonic information that the main site holds, or the fact that the users on this board are not even noteworthy enough for ED, and I personally don't think ED wants to learn about Sonic.

It says a lot about the decline of a series when the ultimate enjoyment of said series comes from trolling on an Internet forum.

D'oh, edit button doesn't seem to work anymore, so I hope you'll forgive the double post, I forgot to state that any rebuttals to what I've stated about your actual intentions with this board can be refuted by a simple glance at the global moderator list; every active user who is not targeted/alienated is a global moderator. My textual (probably not the right way to use that word, but I can't think of any others) voice seems to be coming off as myself, rather a pretentious dickhead, so I'll try to stop the douchebaggery and cut to the chase: I'm not asking to join the "SUPER SEKRET SONIC SQUAD KLUB", I'm asking why do you even have one? It seems pointless, at least to me. It's like you need the troll fire to survive, like a Venus Flytrap with a cable modem.

Truth be told, I'm fascinated by this, and by you, and felt that the best way to see it for myself was to provoke you. I don't really mind if you troll me, if you knew me IRL you'd know I'm pretty self-effacing as it is.

I really do think Sonic sucks though. Ever since Shadow the Hedgehog. Blech.

EDIT: God fucking damnit I type too much. >_> Just tl;dr this shit, I won't blame you.

Uh, I don't think anyone here's seriously trolling by any means, and I don't think we're hard on new members unless their posts lead us to question their sanity, and even then it's not like we go all out on some sort of assault on them or anything. And I think most of us still care about the franchise to some degree, we just know better by now then to be hopeful about each new iteration that comes out.

Edit: dude, chill out, this board doesn't always move that fast and I think you're reading to much into things that aren't really there.

We totally care about the franchise. That's why we quip about most of the recent games so much: They're nowhere near as stellar as Sonic games have the proven potential to be.
try to act like a jaded asshole [...], you fair a bit better, but all it does is prolong the eventual shitstorm
Funny. Most of the shitstorms I've seen here stem from posts that are either largely incorherent (like your unfocused first post in this topic), irrelevent, or entirely incorrect. If somebody disagrees with majority opinion, the majority will present its case, and the dissenter is free to refrute those points. This is how some of the most informative and rewarding discussions on this forum begin.
So the question I pose to you is thus: If you hate people so much, why not just disable registration
We don't hate people in general. What we hate are stupid and unfunny people. New blood is great if it contributes to the overall quality of the board. And this isn't really a great argument, but remember that everyone here was a new user at some point, like yourself.
Another question would be "Why is there no GHZ Encyclopedia Dramatica page?
Thank God there isn't. I think that demonstrates we're not completely misanthropic reprobates.
It says a lot about the decline of a series when the ultimate enjoyment of said series comes from trolling on an Internet forum.
People here have always trolled, even when the state of the Sonic series was relatively better. So what if we love to tease and jester? It's fun! Try it yourself. We sure aren't going to bend the stardards for you alone.

That will be all. Good day.

SLOOOOW DOOWNNNN

Basic forums rules are:
1. Take a joke.
2. Be an asshole.

Also, it's best to do so as succintly as possible.
