Freaking Da Sani water is a Coke Product. Also I remember some kind of canned food or something saying Coco Cola Foods on the back once. Can't remember what it was, but yeah.

That is so strange. In Canada, Dr. Pepper IS a Pepsi product. I am drinking one right now, and it says "Under the Authority of Pepsi Cola Canada" right on the side of the bottle. They even share the same "under the lid" contests (you know, the ones where you spell things) as Pepsi and other Pepsi drinks like Mug, Crush and 7up.

Coke's equivilents to Dr. Pepper, Crush, 7up and Mug here are Cherry Coke, C-Plus, Sprite and Barqs, respectively.

I seem to be under the impression that Dr. Pepper is a subsidary of PepsiCo, but I can't find anything that confirms that, so it's possible I made it up.

I think Crush is an orange soda? C-Plus is probably some strage Canadia concoction, like ketchup flavoured potato chips and toonies.

Constant advertising is necessary for Coke to maintain the iconic status it has burned for itself into the back of your brain. There is some kind of strange psychological association with that drink that drives it's entire market.

They certainly don't sell that stuff based on taste. Pepsi really does consistently win in those blind taste-tests. That was why Coke engineered "New Coke"... to win the taste tests. But as we all know, it totally bombed, even though it was carefully designed and ALWAYS beat out both Pepsi and regular Coke in pre-release taste tests. Pretty strange, hmm?
When I was little, I wanted to drink something flavored. I could not drink milk, juice, pepsi, or regular coke because I got fat too easily.

So my only alternative was the horrible-tasting Diet Coke. I just could not drink water, it made me feel bloated and sick. So I ended up addicted to it.

Oh yeah. We have that here in the US. just ignore it because root beer tastes like a bitter, fattening version of Diet Coke with cinnamon jammed in.

Root Beer is the beverage of angels, second only to Cream Soda which is what the gods drink.

Aren't McDonald's and Coke allied against Burger King and Pepsi, or something like that? It's been awhile since I've gone to either, but I seem to remember divisions along those lines. Also, IBC root beer is the shit, along with Stewart's Key Lime Soda.

Do they have those Jones soda where you guys live? Those are good, until they tried to make the Thanksgiving ones, Turkey flavored soda is bad. Along with all the other flavors.

Meh, it's no A&W but that doesn't make it trash. And Stewart's/Jones/IBC are all pretty damn good.

If you drink it from the bottle or from a frosty mug.
If you get it in the can, then yes, it's shit with a cinnamon tinge.

The difference between a can and a mug is moot. Except you have to wash the mug afterwards. Of course, my experience with Mug has been from can to blender with ice cream and then into glass.

Cherry Coke isn't an equivalent to Dr Pepper; Mr Pibb is. Wild Cherry Pepsi, however, is Pepsi's answer to Cherry Coke.

But what is Pepsi's version, because Dr. Pepper and 7-Up are their own little dealy.

Useless fact: Dr. Pepper originated in Waco Texas and was a random concoction of different sodas. When you wanted one you said "Shoot me a Waco." Incidently Cool Spot is a great mascot and the two games he is in are actually pretty decent.

You don't think the aluminum makes a difference in taste? Soda from a plastic bottle tastes better than soda from a can, to me.

Yeah, those are pretty good, never saw the turkey flavor though.

Not sure about that, but I do know that Pepsi owns Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC. That's why sometimes you'll find a place that's a combination of two of them.

Honestly soda is soda. I hear the shape of the glass that alcohol is served in can alter the taste, or the shape of noodle used in a pasta. It's all bullshit to me though.

Same deal here-- Dr Pepper is owned by the Coca Cola Company in the UK. I've even had an argument about it on IRC.

You guys are both wrong. Dr. Pepper/7-Up is a unique company owned by neither Coke nor Pepsi.
