Awesome, just awesome. Anticipation growing!
Also in that anime cutscene when they show the captured princess or whatever, doesn't the background music remind you of a Zelda song for a second?

Funnily enough, she looks like Saria.

Well fuck me. This is what a platform game looks like! It's like the genre has been dead since the SNES. This is amazing.

Translation of the Prologue for those of you not fluent in Japanese. Still doesn't explain why Syrup gives it to Wario - maybe she's hoping to steal the bag from him after he's done all of the dirty work getting it back?

New trailer for this game that features more of it in action, the controls, and boss animations. Cool!

Meanwhile, if you're mourning the loss of the zaniness of WarioWare, this completely-unrelated game from Nintendo (which I didn't think warranted its own topic) may fill the bill quite cleanly.

Wait, why is Birdo delivering some sort of exposition while the voice narrating doesn't actually match any of the text scrolling on the bottom on the screen?

As for the new footage, it's a bit like someone saw Guilty Gear's animation and thought: let's build a 2D Wario platformer out of that!

I think the better question is why Birdo is voiced by a man.

Funnily enough, when Super Mario Bros 2 was released Nintendo of America made Birdo (Catherine in the Japanese version) a transgender character, rather than just female. You'd kind of expect the exact opposite really.

Captain Rainbow is being made by Skip (the Chibi Robo guys), so it's probably worth keeping an eye on, creepy Birdo or no.

Birdo is speaking in the same jibberish sound technique that was used in Chibi-Robo.

It's like Captain N's gay cousin.

Speaking of which, what's that guy gotta do to get a little recognition? I always thought his show would be prime for a renvisioned revival ala the new Battlestar Galactica or Justice League Unlimited. But I'd have been happy if he had gotten a sticker in Brawl at the very least.

Be made by the Japanese. Come on, you know Nintendo appeals to their own market first.

On the Wario game, it's just too sexy.

Oh shit, Virtual Boy. I got my fill of that puppy with Wario in a demo kiosk at a Lechmere, back when Lechmere existed. Was a fun half hour, but pretty much permanently quenched my desire to play it.

I really want to emulate Virtual Boy Wario Land, but I can never quite figure the emulators out. Shame, since I heard it was actually a very good game.

Heh. I'm glad I managed to track down a VB on eBay a few years back. I actually really like the system. It's like being sucked into another world where everything is black and neon red. Pay no attention to the shit about it giving you headaches. That only happens to irresponsible assholes who don't pay attention to the message at the beginning of every game asking you if you want to enable auto-pause, which pauses the game every 15 minutes of play time and tells you to take a break.

Forget Captain N. Justice League Nintendo alone would make a TV show of the most awesome degree, provided it was done right.

Couldn't the show just be called Super Smash Bros.?

But then it would have to follow the supposedly established storyline of SSB, which about trophies of the characters beating each other up.

My vision involves them forming a team and having a lot of battles against the well-known villains, except it wouldn't be severely dumbed down for a 9-year-old audience. It also gives an opportunity to throw in a obscure character for a guest appearance every now and then.

It would probably end up being made by TMS and redubbed for the "West" by 4Kids and we'd all hate it and write useless petitions about it.

To be fair, Nintendo severed its relations with 4Kids due to the Pokémon dub a while back.
