'Tis quite amusing, Netaku.
Still, I have a hard time seeing Hilary make as big of an impact in the '08 primaries as a lot of people (especially Republicans) are saying.
Huh. That's pretty interesting; I stand corrected.Ngangbius wrote:I'm pretty sure that this statistic hasn't changed for this election either--especially when the topic of morality became a deciding factor of who will win the presidency.

My boyfriend brought this to my attention:
Is everyone ready for another Great Depression?
Guess what? The Republicans have to deal with ALL OF this. Because they convinced everyone that it was worth screwing over gays in favor of being forced to deal with the worst economy we've seen in decades! :)News! If Congress doesn't raise the debt limit by November 18, the United States will have no money. At all. Seriously. But don't worry; Congress is doing something about it. They just passed a corporate tax bill that will lower future revenue by $100 billion.
We collected the same ammount in taxes in 2004 as we did in 1999, but spent 34% more. Under the Bush presidency, the national debt has risen by 30%. We are spending more under Bush than we spent under Clinton, and taking in less money.
This isn't the fault of 9/11 or Clinton or the Democrats or anyone else the Republicans blame their stupidity on. They made a **** sandwich and Bush has four years (maybe less) to eat the whole thing. "
Maybe Americans will see that so-called "fiscal conservatives" are not to be trusted with public money. They piss it all away into corporate farm subsidies and useless wars.
By the way, if you want to help the Republicans out send a check for $7,455,513,419,820.20 to the Bureau of the Public Debt, Department G, P.O. Box 2188, Parkersburg, WV 26106-2188. It's better to do that today, rather than tomorrow, since the debt goes up about $1.7 billion a day.
Is everyone ready for another Great Depression?

Fatten up a bit. When the food and money run out, we'll need someone to eat.

The PM is still sworn in by the governor general (the Queen's rep in Canada), but it's just a ceremonial thing.
Actually, it's the PMs who appoint the governor general anyhow.
We have an interesting system in Canada these days. There are four major political parties... the NDP (left), the Conservatives (right), the Bloc (french party, wins up most of Quebec)... and finally, the Liberals, who aren't actually liberals at all, but are the sort of middle-of-the-road party that almost always wins every federal election. Historically, the Conservatives are the only other party that has ever defeated them, but they haven't done it for awhile.

What SHOULD I call you? "His Majesty's Loyal Subject"?
Oh, and California and New England aren't for sale. Excepting Washington DC and L.A. - those are really our only good parts.
DC and LA are problably going to be destroyed by an act of God in the near future, though - but you can have them if you want 'em.

Yeah that, or just "limey" should do the trick. Cheers. What SHOULD I call you? "His Majesty's Loyal Subject"?
L.A.'s a good part? Well...if you say so. Um...well, we could take New York back, stick it onto York and make York Deluxe. And we'll take all the places which already exist in England and burn them, regardless of whether they are better or not, in case of a rift forming in space/time. I'm looking at you, Birmingham.
