It looks like you'll have to input Smash codes regardless. Hopefully it's not as retarded as Wii friend codes.
But on the bright side, as long as you have a working Wii friend line, you can just send them the Smash code, instead of having to call them up or send them an email or whatever and waiting for them to also add you to their Smash friends list.
Not like I didn't see it coming, but its good to see classic mode made it. Hopefully it has co-op too, since it doesn't look like you can make your own teams on SSE.

Assuming they're not already in.
I don't get the random opponent thing in classic. Giant DK& Metal Mario in SSB64 made sense. Giant Young Link & Metal Ness, not so much. & now apparently the stages will be preset while enemies are still random?
I wonder how upgraded Master Hand got. I predict him wielding a giant Wiimote for a weapon.
I don't think the stages or enemies are preset, just the theme. For instance, on level one, you will always fight IN a Zelda stage against a Zelda character. Which character and stage will be random, but they'll always come from a specific series.
I guess that means she's playable, then. I couldn't see anyone going through that trouble for an AT or cameo. @_@ Damn. Olimar better be in there to offset the furryness.
I'm not sure you guys realize exactly how batshit insane Star Fox has become. For example, Star Fox Command's endings are both fur-tacular and just plain awful. All nine of them! Clicky!
(My favorite is the one where they go drive race cars!)
I want so badly to just say, "Krystal's just a character. So she has a rack. So do a handful of the Sonic characters. She's only a walking talking animal because of the nature of the series."
But now I know deep down if/when I'm playing some stranger online, and they've chosen Krystal, that I'll likely be playing an unwilling part in some weird furry S&M fetish.

With living plant fetishes?
Speaking of which, note the Jack-o-lantern in the 1st pic of the new stage.
