I think one could take quite a few liberties in making a Sonic movie. Making a few new things. Sticking way too close to one thing will alienate other parts of the fandom for sure and trying to include everything will make the movie a big crazy salad of madness.

I say fuck em'. If you make a Sonic movie, then stick to whatever foundation you feel you should. You're a Sonic fan. Go your own path without worrying about closely adapting a game's story perfectly or pleasing anyone else.

It was a draw, because Darkness had a big hole that he was covering with his hand, while Sonic only got really tired.

That's how I see it.

You were talking about it happeneing in a third movie. Thing is that I'm talking about just one Sonic movie, not a trilogy. If that's what I was thinking about, then that could work for me.
Super is the Deux ex machina, is the jumping the Shark of the Sonic universe, unless Super is evil, after Super apears there is no point anymore. A Trilogy would be cool, Super wont appear till the third movie, and yeah the first two movies could be about getting the Chaos Emeralds, 3 for the first movie, 3 for the second and the seventh “unknown” Emerald for the third movie.

First movie: Blue, red and yellow emerald.

Main characters: Sonic and Tails

Knuckles appears at the end of the movie (Robotnik/Eggman ends crashing in the floating island), we get a cameo of Cream and her mun in the Sonic vs Silver Sonic race, and the chaotic appear in the ending credits complaining that they weren’t in the movie.

Oh, and all the characters should do a funky dance during the end credits!

Hmm. Maybe the emeralds corrupt your mind like the one ring from LOTR.

I dont particularly care for Archie, but the character of Athair seems like he'd make a good parental figure for Sonic. Sonic needs a "guide" of sorts, and Uncle Chuck is just the Monopoly guy crossed with Sonic. He'd be ridiculous in a movie. Athair could be like a Yoda/Master Splinter and of course, be voiced by Liam Neeson.

I don't know how Amy will be represented though. In my idea of the movies, she's a childhood friend of Sonic's (they have a relationship in their childhood identical to the games) that he parted ways with. Now in his teen years, he crosses paths with Amy again, but I don't know where exactly she'd live. Amy's house in Sonic X was way too Disney-ish, and the idea of a pink hedgehog having an apartment and living in a
New-York style city amongst humans, like in SA1, ia also absurd.
(they didnt exactly mention she has an apartment in the game, but she was seen grocery shopping, which suggested she lived in that town amongst humans)

Sonic I see as being a squatter, living in an abandoned house on South Island, where he learns about humans upon examining the items located in the house. Also, the abandoned house has a beat-up Tornado in the garage. It's later fixed up by Sonic & Tails as they need to get into the air to stop Eggman.

There'd be a big chase scene in Station Square where the Police try to capture Sonic, not knowing what he is. Kinda like the scene from Sonic X, episode 1, but with actual police cars instead of "Formula-1 Race cars"

That's just about the worst thing they could do to the character. Sonic doesn't need a guide or a parental figure, he's a free spirit.

Sonic would still be a free spirit, its just that Athair would be the one to tell Sonic about the very existence of emeralds and rings and how corrupt humans are, (this doesn't stop Sonic from wanting human things, like television, big cities, parties and the like.)

cjmcray you are getting wrong the idea of Sonic, at first he was a loner, a free spirit, never staying too long anywhere and fighting Eggman sometimes. Then he meets Tails, Sonic plane crashes and Tails, depressed because they have been bulling him for having two Tails(Again), goes to see if there in any survivors, Sonic tried to run away but Tails keeps folowing him, so he ends acepting the fox as his partner, that would be the games version of the story.

A lot of fans complain about the huge amount of useless hero wannabes characters that pop out of nowhere in Sonic games, creating a parental figure for Sonic just for the use of the movie would really suck. Take the two ovas for example, the only OVA exclusive characters where the President, and the catgirl, ad it was fine that way.

In the first movie it would be about Sonic not accepting Tails as a partner and being a jerk to him. Then Eggman/Robotnik starting to trap animals in Badnicks, Sonic saving the day and Tails being useless in the fight. Eggman/Robotnik uses the data he got from "Sonic fight" to create Silver Sonic, then we have a hard fight, race included, until Tails does something to help Sonic, it can be flying or whatever as long that isn’t too lame...
We could save the joke about “Sonic cant swim” for the second movie, in this one it would be “Sonic cant fly”.

I agree with CJ on the idea of Sonic having a sort of guide. But, it doesn't neccesarily have to be someone guiding his journey along the way. Maybe a book or scroll he aquired from the herald (Tails) in the beginning?

Either way, this doesn't mean Sonic will want to follow it all the time.

Parental figure would suck. It's been made so many times, even for Sonic. If Sonic should learn anything from anyone, it should be from Eggman, stealing plans or eavesdropping or something else.

This is the best Sonic movie I've seen:

All of these ideas suck and you should feel bad about yourselves for thinking them.

Not a new movie idea, but the very first time we're able to watch the ORIGINAL, UNCUT, FULL version of the Sonic OVA, in all it's Jap glory and without all that awful censorship and made-up BGM and SFX of ADV's.

First Episode:
Part 1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=CAiAHb7EaRU
Part 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=HJIuGgY3ujc
Part 3: http://youtube.com/watch?v=n_SthA4zrqQ

And also, the original, uncut version of AoSTH in all it's... err, Spanish? glory.

Remind us again what ADV changed? My DVD is just like the Japanese version, barring a couple of hard subs in the background and the skipped first episode credits. The music and sounds are certainly identical.

I don't even think the dub VHS I own had anything really changed, bad voice acting aside. What are you talking about, Isuka?

I certainly don't need a third comment there to realize that this (mine) is a grossly misfired attempt at childish sarcasm.

Whatever, just click, watch and LYAO.
