So who's going to martyr themselves and buy the Shadow game?

Oh yeah, well I was going for a 6.5¾ out of a possible 12 remainder 6², just to be on the "so-so" side.Locit wrote:I was going for 4/10, just to be safe.
Surely this is a good new Sonic game we're talking about. One that doesn't rely on some automated boost-mode or some tag team nonsense. It uses the same formula as as the classic games, but added in with an optional tension meter, so you can summon boost-mode whenever you wish. Sounds like more of an enchancement than a plain-out, one time gimmick to me.smiths32 wrote:Is Rush really going to be that good? I'm pretty positive that'll be better than the Advance series but it still doesn't look all that great- music aside- I wouldn't get your hopes up about it.

Sonic Advance was "back to basics" and got fairly good reviews too, but every single aspect of the game was bland. I truly hope that Sonic Rush is a good game that brings new ideas to the table that enhance the Sonic experience, and it may very well be, but I've not seen anything to suggest that so far. Most of the excitement seems to be coming from the fact that the game doesn't seem to have any immediately obvious stupid gimmicks or ideas.
There's a video review on GameTrailers now.
It's a lot more positive than the Eurogamer review and they give Shadow a score of 8.3.

I played the first few stages yesterday.
So far, control is like hairy man ass, in that you don't want to touch it for fear of death. Level design is like accidently shooting a load into your eye, and i dare say that the guns are the saving grace, because you don't have to worry about using the homing attack.

Well, here's what I did. I put Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog into a shoe box, taped a note of the shoe box saying "The Lost Episodes" and put the box in my closet. I wholeheartedly suggest you do the same.
The series ended with Sonic Adventure 2. There has been no Sonic game after that. Ever.
EDIT: Oh, and long live the Sonic Advance series. Even though they don't retain the charm of the classic games, they still have a hint of quality in them.

And I bet most of those people are blind Sonic(or Shadow) fans that are ignorant that better games actully exist even though it doesn't have their precious Sonic franchise attached to it. =PLight Speed wrote:It looks like Sega made a smart choice though. Of the 90 fan submitted reviews of the game, the average is a 9.7/10. Once again, I have lost all faith in mankind. Well not really, you gotta have some faith to lose it.

Ending #1
Edit: Nevermind. It's all Japanese. And the boss battle lasts 10 minutes because the player sucks.

Holy shit, hahaha. I hope this is so terrible on purpose, because it's really hilarious. (and the song Julien-K did for the game is actually pretty okay)

BTW, the motorcycle is real. So are those horrible scenes from the trailers of Shadow dramatically cocking his gun. And I don't know what to make of the claymation CG. It's neither appropriate to Sonic or to the dark theme of this game. The Heroes CG might actually have looked better.
