Re: New Sonic Vinyl Figures
you could throw em
But no, traditionally figurines do not move. Plus, do you see any points of articulation?

I think Sonic should have been on a standing pose.

Guess that means I have to pass. I made this rule for myself that I only buy action figures with articulation so as not to fill my shelves with tons of statues and crap and make my girlfriend unhappy with me.
But these are way cooler than those old Resaurus ones.

...But she's fine with them being filled with a bunch of wind-up toys? What's she doing with them when you're gone?!Syntheticgerbil wrote:Guess that means I have to pass. Action figures can usually be easily adjusted to take an erect position.

Re: New Sonic Vinyl Figures
So, um.
I bought these.
I actually "bought" them, as in ordered them from Forbidden Planet, a long time ago. It's been so long since I did I'd actually forgotten about them entirely. Until today, that is, when an ominous looking box turned up in the hallway (I assume it turned up today, anyway, as I wasn't the one who received it and none of my housemates went out of their way to tell me there was a package with my name on it).
Photos follow. If people want me to just use thumbnails please say.

Oddly, Sonic, and only Sonic, had his hands in little plastic bags.

He fits onto his base in a vague kind of way by just one peg in his front foot.

Tails is strapped into his blister for some reason.

He's more solidly connected to his base than Sonic. Though he took a bit of pushing down.

Not really illustrated here, but I actually had to force Knuckles' feet apart a little bit to get them to fit on the pegs on his base.

All-in-all, it's kind of ironic that these only came once my enthusiasm for Sonic (and videogames in general) had reached an all-time low ebb, and now I am not really sure why I allowed myself to pay money for these?

They're significantly bigger than I'd expected.

I'm glad to see they dropped the black outline around knux eyes on the final figure.
The sets just not complete without Eggman.

Good lord, does the company who developed these figures still exist? Why did it take so long for these to be released or felt like a stealth release?

Well the First4Figures website is still there, but doesn't look terribly active. They still haven't got them in the Shop section. And taking a look at Forbidden Planet's website, only the Knuckles one is still there...and that's on pre-order. Not sure why it took so long, possibly they were still being manufactured when I ordered them, as even then I think it was a pre-order.Ngangbius wrote:Good lord, does the company who developed these figures still exist? They were either £9 or £8 each. FP has the Knuckles one listed asSegaholic2 wrote:How much were they?
It is. :D Do you want it?Isuka wrote:Slick WP, Crow.
Also looking again I've realised that my Sonic's left hand was put on at the wrong angle. Bah.

Heh, it looks like he's cursing at someone... now you totally need a figure of Eggman running away.
Oh, yes I do, thanks.Crowbar wrote:It is. :D Do you want it?
