Apparently, the Azerbaijanis somehow got the technology to build a superweapon of planetary proportions. Once they launch that thing, the rest of the world is officially screwed.
Ah well. At least they had the dignity not to build a planet-destroying Death Egg.

Ah, so it's just a giant metallic vas deferens in the middle of Azerbaijan for no apparent reason... That's a relief. Now I can sleep easy.

We've actually got one of those here in Sweden too. But since we're a nice nation, we play soccer in ours, instead of harness weapons of mass destruction in it.

In all seriousness, I was surprised that they are building something this extravagant in Baku, of all places. It's not exactly the place that pops to mind when I think "7-star, futuristic hotels".
