As if we all had enough to worry about, now there's this:
Apparently, the Azerbaijanis somehow got the technology to build a superweapon of planetary proportions. Once they launch that thing, the rest of the world is officially screwed.
Ah well. At least they had the dignity not to build a planet-destroying Death Egg.

Ah, so it's just a giant metallic vas deferens in the middle of Azerbaijan for no apparent reason... That's a relief. Now I can sleep easy.

We've actually got one of those here in Sweden too. But since we're a nice nation, we play soccer in ours, instead of harness weapons of mass destruction in it.

With all these million-dollar-consuming crazy projects, you can almost forget how poor most of the population in those countries are.

In all seriousness, I was surprised that they are building something this extravagant in Baku, of all places. It's not exactly the place that pops to mind when I think "7-star, futuristic hotels".
To answer Yami, Azerbaijan (I think that's how you spell it) is a small country to the north of Iran, with its capital at Baku. It's supposed to soaked in oil, though not to the extent of the United Arab Emirates.
To try and thread this into something remotely Sonic-related, it makes me wonder just where Eggman got all of the petrolium-polluted water for Oil Ocean. I mean, did he just spontaneously decide to build some refineries atop of a Exxon-Mobile wreak? :/
