My scanner isn't hooked up at the moment, so it's all photos for now.

I remember seeing those Sonic 1 and 2 in a local videogame rental store. Never thought about buying them though. They all sure look very nice and those videos would be very interesting to watch.

That is the coolest tie I have ever seen, even if it is a little tacky.

What's on the Sonic 2 video? I've seen the Sonic 3 one around but if I've seen 2 I don't remember it.

Unfortunately the English is too good on those boxes to provide adequate amusement. There needs to be some sort of Japanglish saying something like "awsum harinezumi ball acton."

That's funny, the boxes themselves look pretty average to me, save for the S&K one.

Also, this needs to go with a mint, original Mega Drive model 1. And a JVC VHS player in the same state.

The only boxart so far that was superior in the West (of the MD games at least) was Sonic 1's imo. Well, the European cover.
Also a Japanese Sonic CD CD has got to be the most beautiful disk ever made. <3

Is the euro-Sonic 1 cover this one?

Image

When I was a kid, I was always confused about why my copy of Sonic 1 had that artwork on the manual cover, even though the boxart was still the regular American version. But now that I think about it, they probably just chucked the euro manual into Canadian copies of the game because it had french in it.

Meanwhile, Google images just taught me something I didn't know until now... Kirby's not the only one who gets toughened up when he comes to America...

I can't believe I didn't jump on that offer for a Sparkster t-shirt. Oh, the folly of youth.
