AoSTH Returns to DVD.

Post by cjmcray »

Amazon.com has a new listing for an Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog DVD, titled 'Fastest Thing in Time' to be released July 21st.

I think this is a single-disc DVD by 20th Century Fox that has no Shout! Factory involvement. Fox recently acquired the rights to produce DVDs of cartoons from DiC's library, and have released a DVD of the old Dennis the Menace cartoon and an Inspector Gadget DVD is on the way too, so its very possible they could release an AoSTH DVD, especially since Sonic X, a FOX show, did so well in the ratings.

My guess is that this DVD is the 2-part Chaos Emerald saga. My memory is a bit fuzzy, since the last time I saw this episode was 1994, I think. But didn't Sonic and Tails travel in time to get the Chaos emeralds before Scratch, Grounder and Robotnik could? The only thing I really remember from that episode was Sonic using the Chaos Emeralds to make a million versions of himself to defeat Robotnik. I was pissed that he didn't become Super Sonic.

And if the Internet is right, there were four emeralds, which all had the same color, but different shapes.

Oh. My bad.

Staying slightly on-topic, I came across something on YouTube. Some snippets of the AoSTH Unaired Pilot.

If you pay attention at 1:54 in the clip, you'll learn that Sonic knows how to fly.
