Listen up, assholes: I want answers and I want them now. I'm moving to Canada for eight months this September as part of an exchange trip with my university degree. Of course, no doubt due to the curse I'm pretty sure the guy who used to live above the shop I worked in placed upon me in 2003, this September also marks the first time I will actually want to own an Xbox 360, thanks to Halo 3, Assassin's Creed and Bioshock all being released at more or less the same time. (Naturally, these are the first games in about a year I've actually had any interest in whatsoever, and they all come out the minute I leave the country. That's Frank's curse at work again, I guarantee it. That's what it does.)

I'll cut to the chase. Thanks to the aforementioned job, I have the opportunity to grab a Premium 360 package for a tantalisingly diminished fee, here and now in the UK. Would it be a good idea to just buy it and take the thing with me? It seems that most 360 games don't actually have any region protection on them, and it's not such a big deal to import the ones that do from the Old World, but I'm most concerned about power conversion and... you know, whatever the nerd term is for "plugging the damn thing into a TV set". Dache was mumbling something about the latter not actually posing much of a challenge-- but I can't remember the specifics of it and besides he's too busy masturbating, or something, to talk to me right now.

So: can anyone give me a breakdown of the pros and cons of this intriguing scenario? If necessary, I will ban anyone who doesn't.

Well, I believe that TV-Input Yellow, Red, and White plugs work the same way universally.

You'd probably have to get a converter for the electric outlet... you can probably find those online.

I know 360 isn't region free software-wise. At least it isn't region free between the US and Japan. I doubt it is UK and US though.

You can find those in a hardware store. At least in the US.

My cousin got one in France and is having some trouble installing it in his TV around here due to the PAL/NTSC setting. Anyway, I don't live in Canada, I live in Brazil, so that probably won't matter much.

They also use PAL in England, don't they? Though I think you should worry about that only if you'll use the 360 with a SDTV... that would be a crappy TV, Pop.

Except for electricity plug-ins the only real problem I see is if your 360 gets his lovely red ring, I doubt Microsoft would ship a repaired console from Germany to Canada...
