Sonic 2K6? On MY computer?

It's more likely than you think.

Source is the back of the European Sonic Riders manual (PC version, obviously). Image presumably taken (and crudely-yet-effectively edited with arrow) by The Growler, since he's the one who posted the image back on the MoFo originally.

Amazon's UK branch's taking pre-orders as we speak, apparently. I'm waiting for a torrent or demo or something, though the former won't happen until the game's out, and the latter might just not happen, period.

I was wondering what happened to this.

Funny that it doesn't mention the PS3 version, though.

PS3 won't be out until March in Europe, so I guess Sega just figured people wouldn't care if its logo was missing in an ad over there?

Of course, the PC version has no known release date, whereas the PS3 one is more or less a launch title there, so, assuming the PC version comes out after the PS3 one, that fact might be moot. In which case, I have no idea.

I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the old glitches, the new glitches, and the glitches caused by my PC's inevitable incompatibility.

I'm not surprised. To take the really cynical look on things, "Of course they would release it for the PC. SEGA wants money and will release anything, for any system."

I'm wary of getting more PC games, mostly because I'm wary of how reliable my home computer is. Oh lord, is it time to buy a new system?

Not unless you have some good games you want to play. And Sonic 2k6 is not one.

Crysis, UT2K7, Oblivion, HL2, Neverwinter Nights 2 (if that kind of thing's your bag), just about any Trackmania game (albeit that has StarForce and all), etc.

Yes, I am aware that half that list is first-person shooters. But let's face it, it's what the PC's best at. I wouldn't mind other genres either, but I guess they just don't sell?

Oh, right. Sorry, I don't play RTS games, so that kind of thing goes right over my head.

Honestly, for the PC, I'm more of a Black and White type of person. I kinda like the whole "god" sim games, not that I've gotten the chance to play a lot of them.

Spore is starting to intrigue me...

I think the major benefit people were hoping for in the PC version is the eventual method of piracy they will be able to utilize to save them the $60 risk on this piece of shit.

Of course.

Also, I just think it'll look nice running in 1680x1050 on my monitor (which is assuming it even supports that, of course)... although LOOK nice and PLAY nice are two different things.

PC was practically INVENTED to play Adventure games. But I'm really really glad I won't have to buy a 360 or a PS3 for this Sonic game.

If you think the original is great, wait till you see (er, play) the sequel. B&W 2 , I think, has definetly improved upon the first game.

I'm no expert on computers, but there may be too much junk on your computer or you have an outdated graphics card.

You know, they should have required courses in high school and college teaching you how to use a computer. Not just dealing with word processing or powerpoint programs; courses that teach you how to fix the damn machine if all of a sudden it decides to crash or not do something for you.

Yeah, because of all the things that could be taught in high school, tech support is definitely one of the most important.

No, seriously, given the ever increasing prescence of computers, someone should be teaching us how to cope with it all. Instead of leaving us to deal with tech support all the time, which can be quite frustrating.

Oh wait, was that sarcasm? I can't tell with you.

Pretty sure it was.

Yes, I know the image is broken. I wasn't aware ImageShack did this for images that have high-bandwidth. Some people have copied the image to other places, so I'll upload one of them to my server and fix the original post. Eventually.
