Sonic's 15th B-Day celebration surprise

Post by Shadow Hog »

In Japan, they threw some party of some sorts to celebrate <i>Sonic</i>'s birthday (several months too late, I'd have thought, but I dunno, maybe the Japanese release came in November or something). Unlike the consensus on the latest games, it looks like this one might actually have had some semblance of quality to it.

Nothing special here, yet...

What's this? A New Challenger Appears?

Naw, it's just Mario.

...wait, <b><i>Mario</i></b>?

Image
Yep, quite.

Mario & Sonic: BFF

So yeah, nothing earth-shattering, just an Italian plumber paying Sonic back for that neat T-shirt he gave him yonks ago.

The second to last picture made me think they were going to start wailing on each other heads back and hands flailing forward, guys-in-mascot-costumes style. It would've been awesome. I also like how they used a Sonic suit that still had the Soap brand shoes from the DC Sonic Adventure 2.

Mario is one thing, but why is Mothra overseeing the whole thing?

This looks like it must be for some kids show? There are puppets sticking through the windows.

Anyone else notice the Pokemon dolls in the backgrounds...and what looks like Crash Bandicoot's face (sans mouth) doll being covered by the number 165 or something?
