This is all Yu Gi Oh's fault, not to mention the crazy people who purchased them.

If anyone here plays Yu Gi Oh, I hope I offended you.

Oops. Sorry. Force of habit.

The cards weren't so bad. The battles are just as fast as the battles in KH, it's just that now you use cards to select attacks and spells rather than the menu mapped to the 2nd analog stick. It's more of an action game than anything else.

Like I said, the battles are pretty fun and the game has its share of challenging moments, but the graphics and sound are probably the best on GBA-- The music is well composed and the graphics are smooth and detailed throughout. The camera even zooms in and pans around during battles. Plus, it has a full Utada Hikaru song in it, so that makes it better than everything else by default.

And um... while we're accidentally on the subject of Castlevania, doesn't that new Castlevania for DS look good? And doesn't that new Castlevania for PS2 and Xbox look like shit?

I don't play Yu Gi Oh but I do enjoy the TV series. Does that count? Because I am offended. Yu Gi Oh is an amazing post modern look at the way society works and the roles we have in it. All that card stuff if like a really fun metaphor. 'I summon the Dark Magician!' - cool!

Hmmm...okay, I'll take that into stride and buy it sometime when I'm not lazy or something.

There was one point in my life when I was younger then I used to watch YuGiOh. I don't anymore (I do read the manga version whenever I buy Shonen Jump), but I don't so much hate it as I just don't care much for it.

The only thing I'm irritated card-wise is how when every single anime catered to little kids in America suddenly feels the need to spawn a friggin' card game after it.

I'm literally counting down the days till its release. Suffice to say it takes something profoundly exciting to elicit that kind of behavior from me.

The gameplay looks seriously involved (in a good way), and the story seems excellent. I definitely have my doubts, though--mainly stemming from the fact that it seems Igarashi's team still hasn't improved enough upon the heartbreakingly repetitive level design that plagued Lament of Innocence.

I thought Lament of Innocence was okay. Don't come at it expecting a 3D Symphony of the Night, cause it really plays more like a 3D version of the old-school Castlevania games-- run to the end of the room, whip some skeletons, and jump a few times. The fighting engine is what really made LoI worthwhile-- That only 3d adventure game that could rival the depth and fun of LoI's combat system is Zelda. Once you learn some different combos and defensive maneuvers, you can see the depth and thought Igarashi's team put into the fights.

Even though I liked Lament of Innocence (and I'm the only one in the world, apparently), I'm finding it hard to get excited about Curse of Darkness. I'm not sure if it's just because the only screens I've seen have been early development mock-ups, but the graphics suck. Worse than LoI. You already mentioned the repetitive level design, and Isaac still scares my heterosexuality.

Inu-Yasha has a card game.

Actually, card games based on anime isn't anything new. It was in Japan before the days of Pokemon and YGO and the idea will certainly be here to stay through the future.

I'm going to assume this is Isaac, right?

Don't worry, the same thing happened to me with Final Fantasy Tactics... and Metal Gear Solid 2.

I know, but I'm a little irritated on it, that's all. I'll take your word on Inuyasha not made for kids fore I know jack shit about that anime nor do I really care for it.
