It turns out that anyone with some patience and a <a href="http://www.idigitalemotion.com/tutorial ... utorial</a> can bang out their own faux-Uekawa.

I hate the colouring style, makes everybody look like a neon lightbulb. All gradients and no style. But nice illustration anyway, I guess. :/

Now that's cool. Much better than most Ashura pics I've seen. Excellent job.

sonic's broda!!1!1

First Ashura pic I've seen that isn't a green and black recolor of Sonic. I like the way his black spines look. Best Ashura pic EVA!

Since it was pretty big, I just gave out a link. Bunches of PS1 and PS2 characters, some I like, some I know jack shit about, some I hate with a burning passion.

Who the hell is Ashura?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say, "Curse you, Archie."

Ashura actually isn't an Archie creation. There's a glitch or a hack or something (it's been years) in Sonic 1 that causes Sonic to look green and black, and the fan community named him Ashura, Sonic's brother.

Some of those characters look really weird with big anime doe eyes.

Ashura is a glitch you can have in Sonic 2' Emerald Hill zone.
Ashura
To get Ashura, you must enter the level select and debug code. Then you must choose one of the emerald hill zone levels because the code only works in emerald hill zone (1 or 2.) When you start the level press B, you will be a ring, then press a four times, you will be four rings in a row going up or down, you then hold c and right for about 5 seconds, then you go back to the begining, keep pressing a until your the top of a waterfall. You may not see yourself but you're there. Now do the same thing as before, hold c and right for about five seconds. Then press b and you'll be Ashrua, or, green Sonic.

Are filthy lurkers allowed to contribute to this thread? Oh well, here're a few of the least crappy pieces of Sonic/game related fanart I've done.

Billy Hatchet and the Giant Axe would probably have been a lot more fun.

I know, especially since I'm trying to avoid friggin' anime style drawing. Damn hard it is since a hell of a lot of people think nearly anything I do is anime related, even the ones that don't blatantly look like anime at all (I'm not accusing you of this problem, Kishi, just sayin'). I think I'll post another pic that doesn't feel too anime appearance. Ugh.

Yes. That Billy Hatcher artwork is friggin' awesome.

Love the Japanese manual-esque doodles in the background of team Robotnik, too. Brilliant!

Scrumtralecent job on the Alien Soldier artwork. Epsilon looks like his studly-self, like usual. Seriously, he makes Battle Kukku XVI look like a fat man on the john.

Just to show you how much my drawing bites, a preview of some cover art for my story...

<a href="http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/20441087/">Dawn of the Sun</a>

<a href="http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/20438809/">Maybe how female thiefs could look in an FF game...</a>

I may color them if I can learn how to color...
