Car Problems

1985 Subaru GL Wagon -- This car was "passed down" (don't ask) to my dad after his sister had it and grew tired of it. It was a beige car with all the electronic gizmos that you could ever want in a car in the mid 80's. Our family was going up to Maine one weekend (about a 3 hour trip) when I looked in the rearview mirror to see black smoke pouring out from the exhaust. I turned to my father and said "You gotta see this!" Well, he saw it and immediately pulled over to pour some water on the radiator since we later learned that it would have blown up (yes, literally) if we hadn't done so. It was such a great car, but a shame that we didn't know that it was used by his sister's sons off-roading before we got it.
1993 Mercury Tracer Wagon -- This was the next car we had, and it had quite the handling for an entry-level wagon, however this was also used and abused by the person who had it last, who was a TRAVELING SALESMAN, so there was already trouble brewing from the beginning. At first, we had to replace the timing belt hundreds of times, but then other things started to go until I was old enough to drive and use it which is when it convenently chose to have problems with the exhaust system, but it was different this time. It started as simple cadilaic converter troubles, but eventually the pipe under the car that attaches itself to the muffler FELL OUT and was fixed with good ol' duct tape since we couldn't afford the $5000 price tag it would take to fix it.
2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8S -- My current car. My mother was so tired of being broken down on the side of the road by used cars that she decided that it would be best if both me and my dad EACH got new vehicles. He got a Pathfinder (against the wishes of my mother since the rest of the family hates sport-utes) while I got the surprisingly confortable econocar known as the Sentra. For the year that I have had it, there has been not one problem for the 13000 miles that I have driven it up and down the east coast, which is expected since it was bought new with only 9 miles on the tach when I recieved it. I'll put pictures up soon, but I can't make any promises.
I can just smell a "tl;dr" coming from the distance...
