That's not always true. Disney did a great job with the Studio Ghibli works. And that just shocks the hell out of me, 'cause their stuff sucks. Note, that's RECENT stuff from Disney, not the old stuff that still rocks.

Well, in terms of how you're thinking, neither is One Piece. And for all the shit that 4Kids has put that license through, we haven't even seen any fucking action figures released or anything.
It's not so much "USA" as it is "USA Kids TV Programming." The wringer is reserved for cartoons that are going to be on TV and aimed at kids, so it doesn't apply to Ghibli or the vast, vast majority of localized anime.
