I only played the first two, up to about halfway through each. I've only dabbled with PS3 and 4... really, I imagine even 4 is quite dated by this point. As far as I am aware, the Ages updates are strictly graphical.

A compilation of RPGs that are based on the SEGA Ages remakes from Japan, SEGA Ages: Phantasy Star Trilogy combines redone iterations of Phantasy Star: Generation 1, Phantasy Star II, and Phantasy IV: End of the Millennium into one package. New features include additional storyline content, enhanced soundtracks, and improved visuals. Released for North America only.
I dunno. I'll believe it when I see it. My trust in Sega America is low.

Well, seeing as so far the press release says that it's going to be released in North America and nowhere else...

I think they're going to be or have already been released seperately in Japan. No one outside there'd pay $30 just for an 18 year old relatively-unknown RPG with a graphical makeover these days, though. But I can't really imagine many people in the US paying $40 for three relatively-unknown old RPGs, either.

Sure, Final Fantasy did it, but that's because it's Final fucking Fantasy. I don't think Phantasy Star has the name. And I just... don't see Sega America wanting to pay for the huge task of translating the three of them with the risk of it selling like ass. As much as I'd like to see it, I'm not gonna hold my breath yet.

I played 4 on an emulator a while back, anyway. It was pretty fun, but the amount of random battles seemed worse than Skies.

Sega doesn't have much of anything that'll sell in the US except Sonic. There's probably still a small following of PSO kids who will buy just for the Phantasy Star name, so really, that's about the next best thing they have to grasp onto.

You know, I suddenly remembered of some comics where Pengo, some naked woman and that Nights boy were ambushed by some serial killer.

And GG!, honestly: your new avatar sucks.

It's alright, but it doesn't capture that "GG!" feel like the original one.

I like it, really. But you actually do look more like Ataru, as you've claimed.

Yeah, the new avatar suits GG!, I just don't imagine him as a drunken, monkey-dude being an ass talking as much now.

We should probably have an enforced 'change your avatar every month' rule. It'd liven things up.

Or we should hide user names for a week and see if we could guess who was talking. Or just use it to make outrageous claims we'd usually spend the rest of our lives being hounded for.

Like GG said, the udates are mostly graphical but to be fair, the graphics are fairly impressive considering their beginings, plus we get anime styled stills which looks pretty nifty, just go here to see for yourelf http://www.pscave.com/index2.html.

Apart from that, I'd imagine that the horrible text will be corrected, and there's more story development as well as extra quests and stuff. Just your average RPG remake I'm afraid, and I can't see much changes for the fourth game as it was pretty well shaped up to begin with, but only time will tell...
