All the jokes are completley obvious and none of the characters are original in the slightest
A guy stands around acting like a jackass and poking an alligator. Most people would think the punchline would involve the guy having his nuts ripped off by the Alligator.

Family Guy has a koala bear fly out of nowhere and maul his face.

That's predictable?! What the fuck are you? Psychic? All the jokes are HIGHLY unpredictable and come totally out of left field. That's what's so great about the show!

And what wasn't great about American Dad.

Yeah, I've actually seen it now. I was not amused.

Yeah, it was pretty much Family Guy with anti-republican jokes. Crappy anti-republican jokes.

Crappy jokes everywhere. Nothing was really funny. I think I laughed like 3 times or so the entire episode.

There were a few random funny things. And the talking to God part was funny, and the stealing the purse was funny. Wasn't as good as Family Guy, but I haven't decided it is utter crap just yet.

Well, perhaps it's not all predictable, but the randomness is just boring. There's nothing funny in it, it just stabs you in the face again and again with some unexpected animal or something. Now I don't want to become all English on you, but for a truly 'random' prgramme, with 'humour', take Monty Python. You have something completely random but it still has a link to what was before. Family Guy is the equivalent of me showing you a picture of a turle and then saying 'Wow, it's so random, gues what comes next.' and then showing you a picture of a pie or something. It's not funny, just over-the-top bland.

And I know you're all going to disagree with me and I know you probably don't even care. But I just want everyone to remember that I am A Much Better Person and therfore Right.

Agreed. I knew there was a reason I didn't like Family Guy, I just couldn't put it into words -- and I wasn't about to bring it up with these rabid fanboys.

American Dad sucks. I can't wait for Family Guy to come back in May, though. Wonder how long American Dad will last against it (shades of Futurama, anyone?).

I saw the pilot a while back, and the only time I laughed was at the dog pissing dust. Other than that...eh. Owned by Family Guy a thousandfold. Why is Seth MacFarlane bothering to make a new show instead of continuing a better one, anyway? I think Stewie and Brian are a hell of a lot funnier than the "sarcastic alien" and "German fish" (I didn't bother to learn their names).

And I like Family Guy for its randomness, but I grew up watching Ren & Stimpy and smoking large quantities of pot. Randy Newman's "cameo" was pure brilliance.

Seth started making American Dad before Family Guy was resurrected. And I think the randomness tends to be well-done and even creative at times.

I'll agree with Adam that Monty Python rocks, but Family Guy rocks too.

Don't be fooled. This isn't a Megaman spritecomic (an usual one, at least).

Oh no, it's not just a Mega Man sprite comic. It's <I>only</I> the Mega Man sprite comic that started the abominable fad of each and every talentless faggot with a connection starting their own damn sprite comic and polluting the internets with their idiotic "hilarity".

That and it wasn't funny to begin with.

TMS wasn't actually too bad back in the day. When everyone jumped on the bandwagon I just stopped caring.

That's nothing compared to the character Megaman was originally based on.

'Cause he sucks. I love Family Guy but it's partially because of him that Clerks, an once great film that got turned into an awesome cartoon series, got cancelled. Based on the six episodes they made, Clerks owned.

Damn I loved that show

After having finally seen the pilot, all I can say is, "meh."

American Dad wasn't horrible by any means, but I didn't really think it was too funny, either.
