I only say this because the inclusion of a good motobug would sell me on just about anything, but that is not a good motobug.

There's a bit of blue between the eyes and the tan of his mouth that really (moto) bugs me. It makes him look really stressed out.![]()

All of the badniks suffer from limited paintwork. The Sandworm drew the shortest straw - yellow antennae alone would have made it look significantly better.G.Silver wrote:I only say this because the inclusion of a good motobug would sell me on just about anything, but that is not a good motobug.

Re: [56K] Jazwares is actually kind of awesome
I think Jazzwares actually does a pretty good job for what they are doing... which, for the most part, is making actual toys for kids to play with.
The few bigger collector's style display oriented figures they've made... like the giant Sonic and Metal Sonic, or even to some extent the Werehog figure, are pretty much perfectly on model. But they're also really fragile, and can barely even stand up properly... much like you'd expect from a big figure with a head four times the size of his body and gigantic hands stuck onto tiny pipecleaner arms.
These little figures, though -- and they're small, man, like less than three inches tall -- these are for kids. They have a millions joints so that they're more fun to play with, and they've got bigger bodies and beefier arms so that they don't break. And they're not painted very well because they sell them for like nine bucks.
Of course, one might ask why they are making children's toys out of versions of the characters beloved primarily by 20+ year-olds... but, well, it's probably because all those characters are about to be in a new game that kids will play.

Oh you knew they were gonna do it. They did it in Colors and Sonic 4; they had to do it in the big anniversary game.

My first exposure to the maroon monotreme was way, way back when McDonald's gave promotional Sonic 3 toys with their happy meals. IIRC, he was "gliding" on a puffy cloud. I wish I still had it.

I could go for Bic Mac right 'bout now.

170 USD. Not a big figure collector, but that seems pretty expensive to me.

And that's the regular edition! The extra $20 for the light-up version seems trivial.K2J wrote:170 USD. Not a big figure collector, but that seems pretty expensive to me.

And for an extra $5, it plays a philharmonic rendition of Lava Reef Act 1.
No not really, but it should.

I probably would've bought that Classic Sonic figure if they hadn't done such a shoddy paintjob on the motobug.
Is there really any difference between Knuckles classic and modern look? (Besides the eye color)Radrappy wrote:agreed. But this is a faithful rendition of my favorite character's classic form. woop woop.

Haha!
There are a few other differences -- mainly some changes to the shape of his head. Over time, they've downplayed the horizontal extremes of both his nose and the back of his head, so neither of them stick out as far as they once did. But aside from that, plus the traditional modern-era height increase, he's relatively unchanged. He's certainly the character that has changed the least, anyway.

haha yeah I made an effort not to take the bait on this one. No sir you won't have any rants from me.
But wouldn't tails be the most unchanged? Or at leas the same amount as knuckles?

His tail also got zig-zagier, and his jowls less puffy. So that's something, I guess.
I kinda wondered about the metal plates on his shoes. Legend has it some of his design was Nike inspired, before the tie-in fell through. Could the plates have been an impromptu change to avoid resembling a specific model and possibly a patent thereof?
