Re: Humbie Indie Bundie Five
Any one of those games I would gladly pay $7 for. Bundled together, complete with soundtracks, makes it ridiculously attractive. The highlight for me is Bastion, but Psychonauts is probably the one with the broadest appeal. But who hasn't played Psychonauts by now?
Unfortunately this is the first Indie Bundle in which I actually own all the games... but maybe I'll buy it anyway for the soundtracks alone.

Can Psychonauts be considered an indie game?

Since Double Fine now owns it independently... yes? I don't know, the term indie is kinda thrown around willy-nilly these days. Whatever the case, it's some great games/soundtracks for a great price! Who can complain about the nomenclature?

It's quirky, non-commercial and a bit shit*, so therefore meets all the modern-day criteria for "indie" and has been retrofitted accordingly.Green Gibbon! wrote:Can Psychonauts be considered an indie game?

It IS a bit weird they threw in a game that's nearly ten years old and was commercially released on all the major consoles at the time. But Psychonauts is cute and you're a jerk.

It isn't really quirky, though. It is my favorite Xbox 1 game, and still actually the only game from Double Fine that I've ever particularly liked.
But it's not especially quirky.

Picked it up a few days ago, mostly for Bastion, and holy living fuck does it ever have a good soundtrack.
Wish I could play it on my Macbook without worrying it will burn through my desk, though.

This is the video game industry. The only requisite for perceived quirkiness is a lack of space marines.Green Gibbon! wrote:It isn't really quirky, though. It is my favorite Xbox 1 game, and still actually the only game from Double Fine that I've ever particularly liked.

It's got zombies, though.
