Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
I played this game around four months ago. Unfortunately, it was only for about 5 minutes and it was because my buddy got frustrated at the final boss, who was pretty tough. Then someone who was half drunk wanted to go to KFC and off I went.
It played more like Capcom vs. SNK than Marvel vs. Capcom. That's about the only thing I got from my time with it.

I guess it has to do with the pacing (it's slower than MvC2 and about the same as CVS2's default speed).
I already hated the cut down from six basic attack buttons to four, now it is at three... at this rate we'll be able to play the next installments in the VS. Series with our 3-button Genesis control pads.

You actually can work it with only the Wii Remote, making combos ridiculously easy by simplifying them.Shadow Hog wrote:I figure it's one of those games where the Classic Controller or GameCube controller are required. And if it's Classic, then, well, Street Fighter 2 worked pretty well on the SNES.

Mm... I'm all about intuitive controls and everything, but I'd rather not get my ass handed to me by someone flailing a Wiimote around.Hulkshmash wrote:You actually can work it with only the Wii Remote, making combos ridiculously easy by simplifying them.Shadow Hog wrote:I figure it's one of those games where the Classic Controller or GameCube controller are required. Oh, it doesn't involve flailing, just mapping of the entire control scheme to the 1 and 2 buttons ( from my memory, it might have used b, but I'm pretty sure it didn't)Baba O'Riley wrote:Mm... So someone figured out who the new secret characters are. Frankly I'm pleased even if there's still no pizza cats.

I'm hoping Zero as in the MegaMan version, but I'm STILL dissappointed for no Speed Racer.

Covering wars, surving a mall full of zombies, and now fighting hand-to-hand (or armed) with classic Capcom and anime characters? Frank West is officially the most awesome reporter in history.

Frank was officially confirmed by Capcom at TGS. Looks like his moves involve shopping carts, baseball bats, zombies, MegaMan X and a Servbot head.

So i picked up this game a while ago, and its pretty neat. Its a very simple, tame(In comparison to MvC) but enjoyable fighter, with lots of nice nuances to it.
If you haven't already found out, the 5 new characters are Tekkaman Blade, Joe the Condor, Zero, Frank West and the surprise Yatterman-2/Ai-chan <3. So far I love a good portion of the cast, but it seems DLC rumors are already being spread by Capcom itself.

Komugi, Mute King, Phoenix Wright and Ingrid seem to have been intended but were a little late to the production. Not to mention that practically finished GnG stage that somehow didn't make it in. In a recent interview, Niitsuma states they may need Nintendo's blessing before taking action. Heres hoping for a free price tag.
Anyways the game is extremely fun. A lot of it is what Marvel should have been in my opinion, but I think a lot of people may disagree with me here.

I was about to bitch about "European" release dates, but then I checked and saw that this shit comes out tomorrow. That's pretty neat.

I picked it up today. It's fun but the presentation is really uninspired. That and the Udon drawings for the ending bits are terrible. It's also disappointing that the theme music for a character doesn't kick in when you switch to them.

Yeah, the lack of character themes was really disappointing. Apparently there were licensing issues, but honestly I think they could have just made new theme songs like they've done with Marvel characters in the past.
