Re: Sonic Unleashed?

When I first got SA, for some reason, I figured that it was game over if I got caught by Zero. (i.e., touched him or his arm cannon got me). So I was super-terrified of him, and the whole first two stages were like a cutesy horror movie. This actually made playing as Amy a blast. It's a shame I had...

Re: Smash Bros 3 Site Goes Live.

pictures Yeah but its still the pose he makes when he finishes an act in S3&K so I don't know how this makes me wrong? The fact he's done the pose before is rather irrelevant considering its still the pose I said it was. Though I've never seen that in-game one where he's standing next to the SEGA l...

It just kind of dawned on me that he had the hat because he's an Australian animal.

Dunno how I missed that.

Re: Smash Bros 3 Site Goes Live.

No, it's because you said it was his S3K pose, when he's been finger-wagging and foot-tapping since Sonic 1. That's why you fail. But it's cool, no-one minds. http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/6253/sonic1kx4.png http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/8827/sonic2jr5.png lol what its the exact same pose

Re: Smash Bros 3 Site Goes Live.

You do realize you're telling me I "fail" on a Sonic the Hedgehog internet forum, and that the reason for my failure is paying attention to said game series?

Right.

What? He does it right at the start of his section of the video, and he's facing away from the camera, but its definitely that pose.

Re: Smash Bros 3 Site Goes Live.

I changed my mind about them not putting enough effort into distinguishing Sonic. His "idle" poses are the pose he makes upon completing an act in S3&K, and his idle pose from the same game:

Snake doesn't like him though. :(((((((((

Re: Smash Bros 3 Site Goes Live.

Wish Sonic would've had those kind of accessories as alt costumes, but meh Original Sonic is all I will be using on Brawl. That's actually a pretty good point. Sonic really did get shafted in terms of alternate costumes. Considering he has so many different designs, its rather uninspired to just ch...

Re: So . . . Mario Kart

Yeah, I'm not trying to say Mario Kart is really seriously competitive with or without snaking (outside of Time Attack). Just that snaking isn't a "broken" or even "bad" technique, and is in fact necessary if you're trying to play the game in any way other than the usual light-hearted manner.

Re: So . . . Mario Kart

Hey, FlashTHD. Good job on proving you know... virtually nothing about the subject. To begin with, we weren't even talking about "super serial tourneyfag" format until he made it that way. No, we were talking about snaking... Which is only really practiced by these so-called "super serial tourneyfag...

Re: So . . . Mario Kart

Snaking is the last option: "pretty much strictly better once you can pull it off consistently, which some people can actually do". Yet I don't see why that's broken, or even bad. Its hard as hell to do it properly, which I think justifies the fact that its better than the standard mode of travel; N...

And a reminder Hybrid: you're defending a technique you've already admitted to sucking at. ...And? Yeah, I suck at snaking. I don't see how that is at all relevant to whether its a broken technique? @Sniffoy: You seem to be getting confused between a "better technique" and a "broken technique". Bei...

Re: So . . . Mario Kart

It ain't just a matter of being better, it's being able to do something that puts you on a way higher tier of competition. I don't get the overwhelming opposal of anything slightly competitive in this forum. Snaking is a more effective way of moving forward than simply holding A, but it comes with ...

Re: So . . . Mario Kart

Unforgivable that it basically splits the skill level down the middle. If you can't (or won't) do it and you wind up racing someone who can, you're owned. Whether or not they inserted it on purpose changes nothing. It's stupid unbalanced and I can't wait to see them neuter it. Just nitpicking, but ...

Re: Smash Bros 3 Site Goes Live.

But why assume that standard tournament rules aren't fun? I mean, you're not going to the tournament in the first place if you hate the way the game will be played. The point I was trying to make was that when players are trying to become as good as possible in the game (and win substantial amounts ...

Re: Smash Bros 3 Site Goes Live.

On the flip side of what you said, Ritz, if items were allowed in tournies then obviously the players involved would go for them. This turns the game into "who gets the best item spawned nearest to them" rather than "who is better than the other". I mean, if you paid $10 to enter a tournament, with ...

Re: Smash Bros 3 Site Goes Live.

Yes, real players know how to deal with explosive crates/barrels/bombs/capsules spawning in front of them during a match and killing them. sarcasm Of course, I agree that another part of the reason they're losing is because Brawl is totally different to Melee, and since not many people outside Japan...

Re: "Sonic Chronicles" trademarked by Sega

I also point to Mario 64 DS, and you'd have the stylus/your fingers partially blocking your view. Have you even played the game? The only thing on the touch screen is a map of the area. All the gameplay happens on the top screen, so your fingers don't block anything. Regardless, the stylus controls...

Re: Sonic level design, a discussion.

Is my imagination playing tricks on me, or do I remember a deep pit in Sonic 2's Mystic Cave that didn't actually have spikes in it? I seem to remember having to either reset the game or wait for a time out to get out of it.

I also remember the spike pit though. That thing was the worst.
